I cruised up to this place on the highway and thought straight away that the location was ideal. Walk across the highway to the beach. Next door is great cafe/restaurant with outdoor tables. Short walk to 711. A little further walk up highway and you come to shopping village with restaurants, cafes and a great bar upstairs. The room itself was average but clean and overall acceptable. Staff were friendly. But come here for the location!

we go here every year, once you arrive everything is within walking distance the beach is right across the road they provide breakfast every day and the host we call Mr. Bob is always nice the rates are very reasonable

This motel was in a great location. The front desk clerk was very helpful and friendly. The rooms are relatively clean and do have refrigerators and microwaves which is really nice.

I grew up seeing this place in Carlsbad and I never thought that years later that I'd be staying at the Surf Motel. First, for the location being across the street from the beach at such a good price.
, it can't be beat. The staff was great, the room large and neat. The private balcony with two chairs and a table was a nice surprise. Also walking distance to some of the local restaurants. I very much enjoyed my stay.
