“Great place for a moms' getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

I was lucky enough to go to the resort and spa as part of the Aveeno Active Naturals Most Inspiring Moms contest. The rooms were very spacious and the beds heavenly. The spa was truly phenomenal. Not only were the treatments great-- book Katrina for the age-defying facial-- but so were the spa amenities. Also, the range and schedule of activities for adults and kids is great. And the staff needs to be commended for their service. It was definitely worth the flight from NYC

“Luxury resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Definitely expensive, but also a quality experience. Great for a special romantic get away. Staff are friendly and helpful. The spa is fun and if you have a service you can use spa facilities, pools, garden, hot tub, hot pool, sauna and the best steam room. Chopra centre has their facility on site, and you can book an Ayrevedic spa treatment ahead of time! ( see Chopra website). The grounds are beautifully maintained with flowers and water features. There is a good golf course, tennis courts and the fitness room is fully equipped and a good size. There a yoga classes and mediations at the Chopra centre for a fee. There are gym classes to join just when you feel like it. Seems to be pet friendly and child friendly. Dress code seems to be anything from yoga pants to suits and stilettos!

Room Tip: Not all rooms have a tub, worth asking for a tub if you like a nice soak! Also if mobility is an iss...

Hi Physiomom,
Thank you so much for reviewing our property. We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and it sounds like you were able to experience quite a bit of our amenities.

Not sure if you were able to check out our newest addition, but just in case, upon your next stay with us, be sure to experience the brand new Edge adult pool. It overlooks the golf courses, features multiple private sitting areas with fire pits and also has private cabanas.

Thank you again for the great review and recap of our offerings - this will be helpful for future guests.

“We LOVE La Costa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

La Costa has become our favorite hotel in the southern california area.
We spend every Thanksgiving there and we visit during the year. The resort has been upgraded and the renovations are fantastic. The pools, the restaurants, the gym and the rooms are all fabulous. The service is unbelievable (esp our favorite - Adam!). I actually got to know one of the front desk/VIP people at the hotel and call him prior to our visits. He takes care of all of our needs with the kind of 5-star service that makes this the incredibly luxurious resort that it is. What I love the most about this hotel is that it is perfect for a family with kids (we have 3 who love it here) and it is a great place for an adult escape without kids - not many hotels can do both things and do them so well. With the size of the property and the many activities it offers, we look forward to spending more time here during our next visit. I recommend this hotel to everyone as the perfect get away. Coming from LA, it's a quick escape. Coming from another state, it is worth the travel. We have stayed at many other resorts in the area, but this is the one that we will return to year after year.

Room Tip: When making your reservations, let them know what you plan to do at the hotel so that your room is n...

“Beautiful property. Great service. Mediocre rooms.”

Gorgeous property with exotic flora and lemon trees. Peaceful and very private. Service was super. Our 8 year old loved the pool area and the indoor bar made some awesome Mojitos! (Terribly expensive but that's a resort) The rooms on the other hand were mediocre for a spa. Granted we were in a lower end room ...but still. I do recall that the bathroom were much better than the room itself. The on-site restaurant is excellent and fills quickly on a weekend night, so make reservations. Apparently it brings in a lot of residents from the Carlsbad area.

Hi Carolina,
Thank you for your review. We're always thrilled to hear that adults and children alike enjoyed their time here. In regards to your room - are you talking about a spa treatment room or our guest room that you stayed in? We're always looking to improve, so appreciate your feedback.

I do see that you stayed in March 2011 and we've gone through quite a bit more renovations since then - we'd love to have you return and perhaps this will answer questions about the room.

We'll be sure to pass along your note about BlueFire Grill to chef - he will truly appreciate this.
Thanks again for taking the time to review us. We appreciate it!

We only stayed one night and next time will stay longer! Room was beautify remodeled with a comfy bed and spacious bath. Love the fact that you can park your car and just stay at the resort - there is so much to do! Great yoga class at the Chopra Center (just wish I could have charged it to the room directly).
