My husband and I recently stayed at La Costa and had a wonderful experience. We highly recommend staying there. The rooms are beautiful, relaxing and very peaceful. The Spa is wonderful and the staff is very accommodating. It's a bit on the expensive side, luckily we had a gift card.

Just went back after roughly 10 years. I think the renovation was a big success!
There are multiple room types available, to the point of almost being confusing. We ended up changing rooms from a king studio to junior suite to make room for our (adult) kids to stay one night on the pull out couch with a door between the living area and bedroom. They did not have a great night's sleep on the pull out, but I think that is to be expected. There was well appointed functional kitchen/eating area in addition to a washer and dryer. Nice gas fireplace in the living area with a separate tv from the bedroom. Our king sized bed was luxurious and comfortable.
We really enjoyed the ground floor with larger terraces with direct access to the spa area. Our room was #6508.
Thanks to the excellent front desk staff, especially Brooks, we were helped in getting the best room for our needs.
We also did the golf/spa package for one night, and believe that to be a good value. The spa is beautiful!

Visited last year, was very impressed with complete operation. nice rooms great spa, fantastic golf, resonible prices for off season. No need to leave resort. I would like to go back soon.

Stayed for a conference so I can't comment on prices, but the grounds are nice and the rooms are very comfortable. I had large plush beds, a desk for working (with plenty of outlets), spacious bathroom with large tub, and glass/marble shower. Conference center/ballroom was huge and state of the art. Food was very good, so compliments to catering. TVs were HD. Staff always making sure I was happy. This is the kind of property where you can go total luxury or really watch the budget. Minor mistake upon checkin was personally fixed by the employee who made the error. I loved my stay, would definitely come back.
