What a find! Picked based on other reviews here, and stayed two nights in the ocean front king. Nothing quite like going to sleep and waking up to the roar of the waves just outside the slider. Large rooms, freshly remodeled, nice bathrooms, great hot tub, more than adequate complimentary continental breakfast, helpful staff with great advise to great local restaurants ..... And on the list goes .....

This is the best beach hotel we've ever stayed at in SoCal. The rooms were huge, well appointed and spotless. The breakfast room was airy and looked out over the pool toward the ocean. Nice way to enjoy a bagel and a coffee first thing in the morning! Irene, was a very nice lady that worked in the breakfast room. She was pleasant to speak with. She helped us with our plates and even offered us coffee upon arrival. So thoughtful! While we were at the hotel we enjoyed some of the nearby restaurants and shops.

My husband and son rented surfboards, skim boards and wet suits from a nearby surf shop so that they could make the most or their stay. Because the ocean was so chilly, it was a nice treat for the two of them to go for a swim in the heated pool and enjoy the hot tub afterward.

We had such a wonderful time that we've already decided that we'll be back next year too. Can't wait!!

I hosted a reception for about 40 people at Beach Terrace Inn this weekend. Their meeting room is simply and beautifully decorated, empasizing the stunning ocean view. The room fit 40 people comfortably. The adjoining deck expands the capacity, at least on sunny days! The event coordinator, Constance, was a delight to work with. She suggested a wonderful caterer, arranged a block of rooms for out-of-town guests, and handled everything flawlessly. I highly recommend Beach Terrace Inn, whether your looking for an event location or an oceanside vacation.

My wife and I just spent Sunday and Monday night here at the Beach Terrace Inn. This was our second stay at this property. The last time we were here, we stayed in one of the pool view rooms which also had a full view of the ocean and the beach. (My review for that stay is here on Trip Adviser. July 2011) It was great, but we really wondered if it would have been even better to get an Ocean Front room. Well, let me tell you; YES IT IS! Being right on the beach eliminates a lot of the pool area noise and light pollution. It’s just you, the view and the sound of waves breaking on the beach. Extremely romantic. We plan to make this our “Get Away of Choice” for years to come. It’s a bit on the expensive side, especially in the high summer season, but well worth it for midweek during the off season. Again the staff is very polite and helpful. One of my complaints last stay was not having a microwave in the room, and I found out this time, that they do have them available upon request. So I really have no complaints. Hope this review helps you make up your mind. Nothing else in Carlsbad or Oceanside even compares to the experience that this little beachfront inn offers.
