Everything was so pleasant. Great staff, beautiful modern unit. Wonderful bedding, bathroom, kitchen, amenities and fabulous view of the ocean from our balcony. Large adult pool and spa as well as separate children's pool and play area. Beach is across the road but easy access. Jay at the front desk was especially friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this resort!

Wow...We were completely impressed with the facilities. Great room, ocean view, spotless barbecues, etc.....

But, the highlight was what fun we had with the activities provided. Bingo with Andrea was a blast. She was lively, fun, wholesome and totally loved her job. The next night we attended free Sangria night with karoake. Again, Andrea was there, but this time joined by Stephanie and Nicole. They were delightful, encouraging people to sing and getting them to do so! They also did some fun performances themselves.

Same night had free rootbeer or orange floats while we listened to a man tell about his younger years sailing around the world. Very interesting.

Now we are midway through the week, and looking forward to Friday night free wine and cheese....which we'll pay a modest price for the the cheese.

Check in was easy and fast. The room was ready early. They accommodated us with an extra parking place for one night. This is a very hospitable, classy place.

The free breakfast ont he first day is just that, a free breakfast. No time share talk. Yay! They did have a few folks there to BRIEFLY describe services they offer if one wanted to partake....for example steel drum lessons, surfing lessons, aroma therapy info, etc.

I would definitely return here. They charge a $14/day activities fee. :( However, you do get lots of activities, including use of sand chairs, wagons, boogie boards, etc to take to the beach. There is a well equipped workout room as well.

All in all, a great place to vacation!

Modern, immaculate units, with breathtaking vistas. Ideal location to enjoy Southern California coast lines. One of the BEST overall resorts that we have ever stayed at in 25 years of time sharing with RCI.

Everything about this resort is A-1, in our book. It is just a perfect spot along the beautiful California coast, and is serviced by a very dedicated staff. We enjoyed the breakfasts that they offered on several mornings of the week. A most considerate sales team who respected our wishes to be left alone.

Strengths: 1. Ocean close - but you have to walk across a busy highway and a ways away to actually get to the ocean. 2. Driving convenience to Costco, grocery store (Ralphs), restuarants like Tip Top (incredible breakfast & German food!) and Outlet Mall. 3. Adult and children pools & spas. 4. Versatile fitness center. 5. Internet - worked fine. 5. Great showers & bedding & gas fireplace.

Weaknesses:1. Ocean views are availble and quoted as ocean views, but are actually very limited from many condos. No views from the ground floor. Two bedroom condos are always on the corners (nice), but some are stuck behind other buildings (ask for wrap around deck 2 BR condos). 3. Building layouts/elevators/garage - not logical. In my opinion, not very appropriate for anyone with "accessible" requirements. 4. inferior locations - railroad tracks (Amtrak & Coaster) rattle through all the time. Don't get a condo on the east side. 5. Cellular phone - may be unique to our condo location, but the cell phone connection of all three in the condo (different cellular companies) disconnected on almost every call! This was a huge negative, considering two of us had to conduct business and one had to remain in touch with family for health reasons! 6. City Location - Isolated from the Village of Carlsbad. Contrary to reservationists telling you otherwise, you must drive almost 4 miles to get to the quaint village of Carlsbad. From this location - you must drive everywhere.
