The staff really make this place shine, they have biking, pool, boogie boards, movies, books and whatever else one might need for you here. The room was decent, it wasn't old it just wasn't the most stylishly designed place. It was very clean and the finishings were quartz and granite so you know it's been renovated. We didn't get to use the pool but we saw that lots of people were using it. We really took advantage of the bikes to see the local area. The beach is rough here so it wouldn't be safe to boogie board, the waves would be slamming you onto the sand it was a pretty steep angle. We went into Leguna Beach for brunch and found a busy rooftop patio with amazing views to eat at. I can't remember the name of the hotel it was at but you enter through the hotel and make your way up a stairwell inside the hotel to get to it. It's pretty unmarked. We also heard there's a great place for evenings called The Deck in Leguna beach that's pretty popular again with spectacular views.
We went next door to the hotel for a drink and after looking at the prices decided we'd have dinner at www.creeksiderestaurant.com/ <--it was fabulous! A little pricey but the best taco salad I've ever had.
We stayed 2 nights at the Surfside Inn, slept well, there's free highspeed internet and great staff, highly recommend this place to stay.

Because of a reservation mix-up on my compann's part we didn't have the 2 bedroom/2 bath we requested. We got 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. This property's 2 bedroom suites only have 2 beds, one king and one queen. The pull-out sofa is not very comfortable. The queen room has a vanity/sink. Between the two bedroom there is a bathroom with a longer vanity and one sink with a closed-off toilet/tub.

Every suite has a balcony with an ocean view. There are 3 stories with elevator and underground free parking. The first floor is raised above ground level about 4 feet. There are 6 suites (quite large) with 2bed/2bath. They are on each end of the floors and have a partial ocean view. There are 6 suites with 2 bed/1 bath. They are on the end of each floor facing ocean. The lower room numbers's view is obstructed by the walkover bridge to the ocean but still a good view. The higher numbers overlook the pool. We had #104. All other suites are 1bed/1 bath. The suites are not elaborate, but are quite comfortable.

The pool and hot tub are big enough and are glassed in from the sidewalk. There is a very large lounge area with a pool table, large flat screen TV and sitting area, vending machines and free coffee. The kitchen is well-stocked.

Dana Pint with its restaurants and shopping is 5 minutes away. Laguna Beach was our favorite haunt. Lots of boutiques and good eateries, expecially Banana Republic. San clemente is just to the south and is more residential. We ate one night at the Olementi Mexican restaurant next door. It's know as a favorite of Richard Nixon. We wouldn't eat there again!

Driving is easy, but we were glad I brought my GPS along. Surfside Inn is 25 minutes from John Wayne Airport. It's just off I-95 and easy to find.

The hotel staff is most accommodating and quite knowledgeable. We all became good friends right away. This is a spot I would definitely visit again. I would just make sure they had reserved the type of rooms to meet my needs. We were three ladies, so we had to compromise more than I would have like. Otherwise, a very good time.

2 bdrm condo, 2 bath unit 325, general condition of condo was ok, has full kitchen we brought in food for the week, large covered patio furnished ok, very large gas bbq, on evening of day 2 we decided to cook using the bbq, after bbq was on for about 20 minutes when heavy heavy heavy black smoke and soot started coming out of the bbq, opened up removed my ruined steak, entire bbq was on fire, huge fire, I turned off gas supply, fire continued to burn about a hour or so, the wall and ceiling around the bbq covered heavy black soot, soot covered everything on patio, gallons of dirty black grease ran onto patio floor area, the fire was so bad I was fearful the entire resort was going to burn down, only upside was some great local tours we took

Great location; right across from the beach, and by the bridge crossing PCH. We had a great unit - a 2 bdrm/2 bath on the 3rd floor (#325), w/ a nice ocean view looking up the coast It was very spacious w/ big balcony, huge jacuzzi tub in the master bath; good-sized fully-stocked kicthen, clean, nice furnishings. The staff was super friendly, and there was pool and Jacuzzi. I also liked that it’s a small resort – just 37 rooms – 6 2-bdrm/2 baths and 6 2 bdrm/1 baths on the ends, and 25 1-bdrms (some in the front w/ ocean views, and some in the back w/out).

Very family friendly. Liked the free bikes/helmets to borrow, games to check-out, and the lockers of beach chairs, toys, etc to borrow. I’ve stayed at a lot of timeshares, but this is the only one that I recall where each unit has its own full-sized private grill on the deck, which was really convenient. We hit Costco nearby for some steaks and fixins, invited some family over, and had a great evening of relaxing in the pool/Jacuzzi, games, BBQed steaks followed by a walk on the beach. The next morning we borrowed bikes and went for a long bike-ride on the beach, and later a rollerblade, w/ the skates w/ brought. Can’t beat that.

Only real dislike was the traffic and noise from PCH, but overall it was a great place for a weekend get-away,
