“A Little Slice of Paradise”

Cambria Pines has quickly become our favorite getaway location. My honey and I have been vacationing on the Central coast for the last 30 years, and have stayed at many wonderful places, but when we discovered the Cambria Pines Lodge we were overwhelmed by the beautiful forested scenery, & the room was gorgeous with the lovely little patio in the back perfect for reading & relaxing. Throw in a fantastic Filet Mignon, and a bottle of wine & you have the perfect evening.

“Beautiful place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012 via mobile

We stayed here on a tour to see elephant seals, butterflys and whales. It's a very pretty place - the gardens are lovely. Rooms are large. Our food was buffet style and was nothing exceptional, but the restaurant a
nd bar looked fine. This is a great place to stay when you are touring the coast or visiting Hearers Castle

“Just as Great Second Time Around!”

We were so happy with our experience in 2011, we came back in 2012. Same time of year, February, same great price, only this time a friend joined us. He had his own room, a King Suite with all the amenities. He travels extensively and thought this was one of the best deals he's ever found. We met in time for the Super Bowl and gathered with other "baby boomers" in the lounge at the main lodge. We stayed through the first half, enjoying complimentary chips, guacamole & salsa, but retired to our dog-friendly suite for the last half (dogs like football too). We returned to the lodge after the game for dinner. My wife and friend both ordered the Blackened Rack of Lamb, I ordered the Roasted Prime Rib, medium rare. The vegetables accompanying the entrees were crisp and fresh (possibly from their organic garden). My prime rib was cooked perfectly, both lamb eaters were very happy. I am certain that the components of my Field Greens salad came from their garden, as my server promised. My wife and I visited the gardens on our morning dog walk the next day, an wer impressed with the size and variety of their winter vegetable garden!

Both our suites were very spacious, with kitchenettes, fireplaces, wifi, cable TV; ours even had a private back patio. In fact, when I made the reservations I asked for, and got, the same Large Suite we had in 2011. Even though we have stayed here in the winter both visits, the grounds and gardens are beautiful, well tended, and peaceful. We enjoy dining with our dogs in the heated outdoor grottos, especially for breakfast. The breakfast buffet is complimentary and extensive, as good as we remembered from our previous visit.

My wife and I enjoy the Central Coast and visit at least once every year. Cambria Pines Lodge provides a welcoming, comfortable home away from home for us and our two dogs. It will remain our location of choice whenever we visit Cambria.

Room Tip: Must call if you have dogs, but a variety of accommodations are available. The King Suite was enormo...

“Great Times at the Lodge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

My girl friend and I spent a weekend at the Cambria Pines Lodge and had a spectacular time. We booked our stay through travelzoo and got a great deal. The package included two nights and a meal in the lodge's restaurant. The meal was absolutely wonderful she got prime rib that was perfect and I had fish that was also very good. The meal also included a bottle of wine that was excellent. The wait staff were as good as any I've seen at four star places. Never had to wait on anything but they also weren't hovering just very very attentive. The grounds at the lodge are also a delightful experience kept emmaculate. My gal particularly enjoyed that aspect as she is an avid gardener and was awed by the beautiful gardens and fountains. We upgraded to a suite that was complete with a king sized bed in the bedroom with a tv and the living room also had a tv. It worked out perfectly on Sunday I was able to watch the football game while she watched the food channel in the bedroom. The bathroom also had a full size jacuzzi we both enjoyed. Both rooms also had gas fireplaces that added a nice ambience. Each morning we also enjoyed a complimentary breakfast. We're not talking corn flakes and some donuts either. The breakfast included eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, biscuits and gravy, grapefruit, yogurt, coffee, milk, an assortment of teas, and juice. We will definitely be going back again soon.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a suite you'll be glad you did.

“Comfortable and scenic getaway”

My husband and I stayed in a Deluxe Suite on Jan 29-31. The room was very comfortable, including a king bed with a memory foam mattress. We had a private patio that looked out onto a meadow, complete with deer(the first evening we arrived). The grounds of the Lodge were lots of fun to explore, immaculately kept and full of picturesque scenery. Great restaurant in the Lodge. Dinner was very tasty, breakfast (included with the room) was all one could wish for. And yes, we do travel a lot so we have many places to compare this Lodge to. We can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Deluxe suites avoid the drawbacks mentioned by other travelers
