What a great find...the family took a trip to Cambria to see the Hearst Castle and visit the Elephant Seals and had such a great time. The Fireside had clean and comfortable rooms (we got adjoining rooms) sitting by the fire looking out at the waves...the heated pool and spa were a hit...even in January! Good free breakfast, kids loved the waffle bar and we got fresh baked cookies every night! They gave us good suggestions on things to do and places to eat. We will be coming back this summer for sure!

My girlfriend and I stopped in Cambria on our way up the coast on Highway 1. We stayed at the Best Western Fireside Inn and what a great surprise! The room was clean, the staff was exceptional, and the view was amazing. On top of all that, we had complimentary high speed internet and a delicious continental breakfast. We already have plans to stay here again. I highly recommend the Fireside Inn. Can't beat that ocean view.

Very good and clean hotel with everything you need for a short stay. Rooms are very large and comfortable. We enjoyed walking to the beach in the evenings.

The motels along Moonstone Beach may look old and seedy but when you go inside your room at Fireside Inn you think you are in a 4 star resort hotel. It had a lovely fireplace that took a flick of a switch and made the room so cozy. It was a large room and the bed and sheets were so comfortable and CLEAN! The bath was nice (water pressure a little low) but it was everything we could have wanted. Across the road was a gorgeous stretch of beach with a boardwalk out over the mangroves. We took advantage of the hot tub and it was great! It was very nice and hot...not lukewarm or tepid...and, again, very clean. Nice robes to use while there. The man at the front desk was very nice to offer local suggestions for dinner after giving us cookies upon check in. The town of Cambria is an ideal location to stay if you are wanting to tour Hearst Castle.....which we did and it is incredible! Another fun thing we did was the anti-Hearst Castle home tour of Nitt Witt Ridge! It is a home built out of junk collected by an eccentric man for 52 years. He used car parts, shells, toilets...you name it.....don't miss the his/hers toilets. Worth the $10 to tour it. Cambria is a beautiful, quiet village.
