“A Great Place - December 2011”

Lori, the inn keeper, made us feel welcome and was very nice. We selected this B & B based on TripAdvisor reviews and were not disappointed. As others have written, she made my wife and I feel like family. We stayed in the Donegal room because it was one of the rooms with a wood burning fireplace. The room was clean and neat. The bathroom was also clean and neat but had some outdated decor that some (not us) may find bothersome because it was very out of place with comfy 'old English home' decor. One thing to note about the bed..IT REALLY, REALLY SQEAKS !! Honeymooners beware ! Breakfast was very tasty and portions were more than enough. Afernoon wine and cheese was great as were the evening cookies and milk. Another thing to consider is that by the time one factors the cost of breakfast for 2 and the other snacks, this is a real value at $175 USD. We were about 2 miles from downtown Cambria (walkable) and only 6 miles from Hearst Castle. We went another 6 miles north of the castle to see the elephant seals that come ashore during December and January to give bearth and mate. I give J Patrick House a 8-9 out of 10.

Room Tip: Highly recommend getting a room with a fireplace during the winter season

“Nice romantic place in Cambria”

We spent two nights at the J.Patrick House Bed and Breakfast during Thanksgiving time; it was our first stay there. We really enjoyed it. Our room had a real fireplace and was nicely decorated. At the arrival, we were met by the owner, John, who explained where we should go and what to visit. During the "wine time" with homemade spreads, John set there with us talking about his business and life, and it wasa very pleasant experience. In the morning, we had delicious home made, healthy breakfast looking outside the garden with blooming fuscias. We defenetly will stay there again when around!

“Memorable Get-away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

The Innkeeper made us feel like family, and the full breakfast was delightful. We've been staying at B&B's in Cambria for years, and this is the best yet. Wish we hadn't waited so long to discover this inn.

“Great Weekend Get-away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

Just what we were looking for. Comfotable room, gracious hosts and cookies and milk to boot. Irish theme matched perfectly for our trip since we were visiting Cambria for an Irsh concert. We stayed in the Galway Room- cute, cozy and warm. Breakfast was more than enough and very tasteful. Wine and cheese were excellent as was the conversation. Staff was vvery helpful. Could not receommend a better place to stay.

“A perfect weekend again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

My wife and I have been here at the J. Patrick House Bed and Breakfast 3 times now. We come up here to get away from Southern California and enjoy the slower pace. We will only stay here and no need to look at any other B&B's. I really like the evening wine and crackers, everyone comes down to the main lodge and talk about their day or evening or things to do, it is VERY relaxing and I really love it. We usually go to Hearst Castle and this is close enough so the drive is not bad at all. We will continuing coming and will pick out a different room each time if we can. They really do go out of their way to make this a memorable stay and breakfast in the morning is super, did I forget to mention the "Killer Chocolate Cookie" you will just have to go there to find out about those.

Room Tip: No TV or telephones in the room, but that is part of the charm of this place.
