“Great Value”

Just returned from Cambria and stayed at the Mariner and it was the best deal we had in a long time. Front desk people Steve and Jim were fantastic. I had called other hotels that are right across from the beach and they wanted $169 for weekend nights. we paid $79 a night and had a firplace, view of ocean and jacuzzi tub.
We also had to leave a night erlier and I was not expecting to get a refund for the night but I just said we had to leave early and Iwas refunded no questions asked.
If your going to Cambria you will not find a better value

“Don't Let Them Charge Your Card Before You Arrive!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2011

My husband and I made a reservation here in October for a December trip, but we were not told our card would be charged immediately for the full three days. Due to bad weather we had to cancel and did so in the allowed time frame. About two weeks after cancelling we noticed our credit card had not been credited. After many calls and being told to call back at certain times when the biller was there we were never able to reach anyone who could help us. Finally, we were told we would get a refund on Jan. 12 but it didn't happen. We had to file a dispute with our credit card company in order to get the refund on Jan. 17. With the exception of Maria, most of the staff we spoke to were rude. We love Cambria but will never, ever stay at the Mariners Inn!!!

Under New Management! The Mariners Inn is under new management and we will be alleviating the issues seen here. In a few short weeks we've had many very happy guests and as time goes by, we will be steadily improving the hotel as much as we can. To be right across from Moonstone Beach, to be at a small boutique beach hotel, your stay should be stress free and pleasant as well as affordable. Come see the changes we've made soon!

“Really Yucky!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2011

Checked in to a Queen room that had such a bad mold smell, I "upgraded" to a double/double that had a jacuzzi tub and a fireplace for another $45. The carpet/furniture was REALLY dated. Carpeting had numerous stains. There was no bedside lamp or clock and the outlet at the bathroom would not work unless you reset the electrical (that red button on the outlet), which would then turn the jacuzzi on! The in-room refrigerator pinged and shuttered all night and the bed was VERY firm and uncomfortable. The community hot tub was out of order and green. Location is about the only good thing I can say about this hotel. For another few dollars, I'm sure you can get something MUCH nicer in Moonstone.

“This hotel was misrepresented online, overcharged and did not recieve the room that I had reserved.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2011

I booked a room through the hotel web site and thought that I was paying a certain price and when I recieved the conformation it was billed about $80.00 more than the advertised price on line. I booked a room with a whirlpool tub and when I arrived I was given a regular room. I went to the office to ask and was told that I did not reserve a room with a tub. I was told that it would be an extra $40.00. I was made to feel like I did not know what I was talking about. Later I got to the conformation I printed out and sure enough it said that I did reserve the room with the whirlpool tub. When I confronted the front office with the conformation they told me that there was nothing they could do about the extra money that I gave them. Needless to say, I insisted on a refund and eventually they did give me back the $40.00.
The room was very small and did not appear as was reflected on the web site. Our heater went out in the evening and could not be made to work. It was a very cold and wet week end. We were offered a small portable heater to warm the room. The advertised outside jacuzzi was not in service and we were not informed of that.
Needless to say we will not be returning to the hotel nor recomending to our friends.

“It was a nice time for sure....great location.....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2010

I had a few nights away w my husband and we stayed at the Mariner's Inn mostly for price and location! It was right in front of the ocean and a great path to walk along the coast! Really beautiful site. The rooms had too many themes going on: a slick asian like bed cover with this almost latino tile sink and this 70's electric fireplace going :) hehe...but clean and sleepable. What bugged me more than anything was that outside the hotel for everyone to notice- they advertise the rooms for 69$$/night when I payed almost twice that online... kind of "in your face". But, I had a great time and we would come again. I might call the hotel itself.....;)
