As some of the other reviews have said, this really is a hidden gem We stayed there after two days in San Francisco on our way to Death Valley, LA, San Diego and Palm Springs. It was one of our favourite stays, and best value, shame it was just for one night. We arrived with our two kids (5 and 8) after a long, but beautiful drive down the Pacific coast to a lovely warm fire in the comfy, spacious and clean room. The next morning we strolled on the quaint beach after a good breakfast at the Inn. Lots of restaurants close by. Nice little pool, though it was too chilly even for us Scots to try. Couldn't fault it - well done FogCatcher, I hope we'll be back!

My family members and I needed a place to stay in Cambria and the FogCatcher Inn was the perfect hotel for us. We were able to reserve a suite so my relatives could comfortably enjoy this beautiful area. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and a nice bonus. The staff was super friendly and offered lots of options for activities and places to eat. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the fireplace was a nice touch. We are staying here for our next family reunion in Cambria.

I chose the FogCatcher Inn based on reviews I had read and their web site. We were looking for a place near the Hearst Castle as our base for a Central California Coast vacation.

The room was just as described. No AC (not necessary, at least in September) and a thermostatically controlled fireplace to take the chill off in the morning. Good TV and WiFi.

The staff at the front desk was extremely helpful in planning our daily trips. They spent time helping us choose wineries to visit, and suggesting local restaurants. They had menus from many of the nearby restaurants.

The inn provides a breakfast buffet each day--eggs, sausage, breads to toast, cereals, etc. The homemade salsa is good on (almost) everything.

I hesitate to give this review because I don't want to see a great hotel spoiled by an increase in business, but the truth is that we will always remember our stay at the Fogcatcher Inn as the best hotel experience of our lives. Not the fanciest, but the best.
