Although the hotel is older and is being fixed a little here and there, the staff, pool and grounds are wonderful. I have been coming to village inn for about fifteen year and always enjoyed staying in this hotel, and the last trip Calistoga inn with my finance Shawn was really special not only because it was our engagement celebration but also because of very warm welcome and attention from employee Cory. This young man almost a kid did his best to make us comfortable and helped us enjoy our time in Napa. He was very friendly, warm, and caring. We would highly recommend to everybody to come to this hotel and enjoy not only the facilities of the beautiful back yard and pools but also the warms of this young nice man, Cory.

Called Village Inn two hours before leaving to ensure there were tub rooms available at off season price and that all pools were running at correct temps. We were very specific and the desk fellow (middle aged soft spoken) assured us that all was well. On arrival we discover that the jacuzzi in our "tub room" has been nailed shut with plywood and the desk guy says there are no others available. So we went to check on the three therapy pools - all were less than tepid. These are big pools that are always run specific temperatures. We cancelled out and went to Roman Spa -- a very nice place. It's hard to figure how this desk guy benefits anyone by lying but that's what he does.

The pictures on the website is nothing like what the actual place looks like. No heat, not enough towels very very very basic. Worse than what you could think of. Holes in the curtains, not enough places to put your luggage, not enough electrical outlets, the shower stall is very very very small, takes a while for the hot water to become hot. We had come from another state for a family function so I will never ever go back there and I will not recommend it to my family members that do go there all the time. I also asked if they could do anything about the price since we didn't have any heat and I was told "no because I had placed the reservations on line". I believe that is totally unfair. The guy behind the desk wouldn't even consider it. Very Rude!!!!

We arrived at Calistoga having been driven inland from the Californian coast by fog and had not pre-booked a place to stay. It was a weekend and the town was relatively full, so we had to hunt round for a hotel/motel. In the end, we reached the Village Inn and was offered a room at a reasonable rate. The room was reasonable, but not special. The whole nature of the motel is that it is in urgent need of modernisation.
