“Inhospitable hospitality”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 March 2011

I traveled to Calistoga to run the Napa Marathon. Pink Mansion was listed on the marathon website in a select group of B&Bs catering to runners, offering, for example, early breakfast the morning of the race. However, when I arrived I was informed that no such offerings would be available. In addition to having to purchase food at the grocery store to ensure I was properly fueled before the race, the B&B would not allow a late check out so I could shower after the race, only offering use of the shower by their pool. Because there were several runners at the B&B, I had to stand in my soaking wet clothes (it rained for much of the race) after running 26.2 miles waiting for another runner to use the same shower. I do not think providing any of these extras was a lot to ask for the weekend of a major local event, nor would they have greatly inconvenienced the B&B. If I were to return to Calistoga to run the race in the future, I would stay at the Bear Flag in, just down the road where several of my fellow runners stayed, who were provided with a full breakfast the morning of the race, as well as late checkout so they could shower and change. They also paid much less than I did.

While Pink Mansion is certainly a lovely facility, I was disappointed at their insensitivity to the needs of the runners. At the very least they should not have listed themselves on the race website as catering to runners, when no such accommodations were offered. False advertising.

“Romantic and Intimate”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2010

Wonderful bed and breakfast. My wife and I stayed in the Honeymoon Suite, and fell in love with the antique decor, and the layout. We enjoyed the pool and outdoor hottub, in which we had all to ourselves. We will be making frequent trips to the Pink Mansion in the future!

“Cozy cottage with character”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2010

This place is awesome! We stayed in the dog-friendly cottage just above the mansion. It's huge with two queen-sized beds, a full living room, kitchen, fireplace, and private porch. The grounds are all beautifully landscaped with mossy trails and little ponds of coy. It's all very lush with a gorgeous view. Lots of character! Plus the owners are super nice. They make amazing unique breakfasts like french toast bread pudding preceded by fresh fruit. The owner even went from farmer's market to farmer's market to make get the 5 dozen beautiful roses I requested be in our room upon our arrival (for my mother's 60th bday). (They also serve wine and cheese in the evenings and have a jacuzzi and a pool.) They were gorgeous and very reasonably priced. Plus this place is within walking distance of quaint little downtown Calistoga, only a 5 minute drive from major resorts with spas like Solage, Indian Springs, etc., and only 15-20 from the major wineries. Perfect location in a cozy setting.

“A magical part of our sister's trip”

We originally chose this B&B not just because of its reviews on Trip Advisor, but because it was one of the few that could accomodate three people comfortably together in one room. Our objective was to love, laugh and experience everthing on this trip together because a sister reunion was long overdue. This place met and exceeded all our expectations. The owners upgraged our room to the private cottage with its own fireplace and cozy seating area, a downstairs and loft bedroom,a kitchenette and two patios (one at the entrance to the seating area and a private deck off the bedroom. The beds were very comfy and the towels and linens where spa quality. There were many little personal touches both in the cottage and the main house that added to both the intimacy and quiet serenity of the place. The kitchenette was stocked with whole bean coffee for the coffee maker as well as an assortment of tea. Wine glasses and red wine as well as personalized chocolates were provided in our cottage. Plush pink robes were provided for each of usin the bathroom. There were benches, a small aviary, several fountains and other water features on the beautifully landscaped grounds that led to a zen garden atmosphere . There was also an indoor pool with its own bathroom and dressing area and a hot tub. Both were very clean. The breakfasts were amazing and the owners were helpful, friendly and very accomodating. I would reccomend this place to just about anyone whether you are looking for a romantic get away, a solitary retreat for the soul, or to reunite the magical energy of sisterhood.

“Love this place. What a great weekend get away!”

This B&B is so wonderful. The Innkeeper, Carrie is helpful and adorable. Delicious breakfast every morning. She accomidated every request we had. The house is spacious and clean. We were able to look at most of the rooms and all are so cozy. We didnt use any of the common areas of the house but they looked wonderful. Spent most of our time in Calistoga (5 Minute Walk) and St Helena and Napa. We are going to be back in the winter and stay in the cottage. I can't wait. Thank you for everything!
