The hosts are delightful. The room was charming. Loved the claw foot tub. It is a little bit outside of town so you can't just stroll around town. Also the pool area was a little run down. It is off season for the pool but we were hoping to enjoy the hot tub and it didn't appeal to us.

Our bed was squeaky so when you rolled over it made noise. But it was very comfortable. We enjoyed the private entrance.

The breakfasts were wonderful. The evening cocktail hour was enjoyable. Overall a good value.

My girfriend and I spent 2 nights at the bear flag inn in September 2011 and had the relaxing break we hoped for after 4 nights in Vegas!

We were made to feel straight at home by Dennis and Marge, who kindly served some of their fine local wine and Beer!!! Their politeness and generosity came naturally to them which was a highlight!

We stayed in the storm room which we found spatious, bright and comfortable. Especially the bed!!! We slept like babies!

The B&B is set in a great location a short walk from downtown which made it perfect for exploring the local area.

We cant think of anything bad to say about the place so no negatives to add from us!

Overall a pleasant enjoyable stay, great hosts, great weather & somewhere we would fully recommend!

We stayed at the Bear Flag Inn for 2 nights in September 2011, as part of our honeymoon. We had a great stay - Dennis and Marge are wonderful hosts, very welcoming and friendly. Dennis serves his own wine, from the vinyard in which the B&B is situated, every evening, which we really enjoyed. It was nice chatting with the other guests also. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and had a stained glass window. We loved Calistoga and if we are in the area again, would definitely stay at the Bear Flag Inn.

We stayed at the Bear Flag Inn in mid-August 2011 and had a wonderful time. Dennis and Marge are the best hosts you could ever want. The Inn was wonderfully comfortable, nicely decorated, and reasonably priced.

Best features: a wonderful, bountiful, home-cooked breakfast; an afternoon social hour (with Dennis' own wine); a nice swimming pool and whirlpool; and lots of amenities and extras.

Best room: the Lovina room, which has its own private entrance.
