Last month I stayed at this motel (which I have learned has recently become a Knights Inn) and was seriously disappointed. I race at the Buttonwillow track 1-2 times a year and usually stay at the Motel 6 (the older one at the end of the street next to Carl's Jr), and know what to expect - bare bones, but overall clean and comfortable.
This time around, another team driver booked the Super 8 for us, and I expected similar or better than the 6 since it was more expensive. I was wrong. Nasty stained carpet, evidence of the security latch on the door being previously ripped off the door frame and then just reinstalled lower, a "soft spot" on the floor of the bath tub, the paint/coating on the shower walls flaking off, and hardly any water pressure.
I am by no means a finicky person - like I said before, I normally stay at the Motel 6 down the street and am perfectly fine with it, but this was a let down. I'd give it one star but I did sleep fine (the room was not facing the freeway, thankfully) which is really all I needed the room for, and the free continental breakfast saved me a few bucks and an extra stop on the way to the track.
