We booked into the hotel for one night to be close to the airport for the final leg of our journey home from holidays.
Whilst the location was great for that purpose, the hotel itself was quite disappointing and not at all what we had expected from some of the reviews we had read.
Service is not something the hotel seems to know much about. No-one offered to look after bags on arrival - even though there were staff were around for that purpose.
The corridors were constantly blocked by housekeeping trolleys day and night, making it very difficult to get our bags through to our room on arrival, or back out when leaving.
There was a musty odour in the hallways which we had hoped would not also be in the room - unfortunately, the room air was no fresher. We had a view of the runway in the distance, but the windows were quite dirty , and overall the room had a grimy feeling.
Fittings and furnishings are all very old and worn - paper cups only supplied. Lumpy bed, and internet charges horrendous. Not quite the advertised 4 star experience.
Granted we had been spoilt by some truly fantastic accommodations in the previous weeks of our holiday, but this hotel really was below average.
I don't normally write negative reviews, but felt an obligation to other travellers, as I had only seen good reviews on this hotel before, and trusted those, only to be disappointed.
