“The nastiest motel in all Tahoe”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 March 2011

We stayed at the Tahoe Inn for a night. The first room we were given smelled of smoke and (gulp) bodily fluids. The second room we got was fine, by one-star standards. The hot tub that we were very much looking forward to was out of order.

This is a place that is PERFECT to stay at if you are a college student, with 12 of your friends, going skiing at Tahoe for the weekend. It's really fine for that. Just don't stay there if you expect it to be nice. It's old, unkempt, moldy, cracked and depressing. If it actually were as cheap as they advertize, it would be a great deal.

“AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 February 2011

I asked for an upper floor, which I got, but it looked out on the adjacent uphill parking lot so there was NO privacy. The vertical blinds were missing TWO slats so they would not close at either end, eliminating any privacy whatsoever. The door lock was something one might find on a bedroom in a private home. I had to manually lock it when leaving the room. And the inside security lock was missing its receiver rendering it useless. There was mold in the shower and along the baseboard in the bathroom, and there were cracks caused by deteriorating drywall adjacent to the (single pane) windows in the bedroom. When, after several minutes, I was able to adjust the shower temperature and stand under the shower, (on a spongy shower floor) I got blasted several times with surges of EXTREMELY hot water. When I explained this to the desk clerk upon check out, the maintenance man (?), who was sitting in the lobby told me this was unavoidable because they had replaced the old boilers with modern gas hot water heaters. What a CROCK!! The walls between the room seemed to actually amplify the sounds from the rooms on either side. All this after paying jacked up prices for Presidents' Day. Avoid this place like the plague!!

“This is as good as you can get for this location and the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2011

This is our second time to ski here and stay in this hotel. The location is convenient to many ski resort, the room is comfortable (lots of space, hot water) and the lady at the front desk is very helpful. Most of all, you can not get some places around here at this price.

They had terrible customer service. Not friendly at all. Maybe the rate was cheap but totally not worth it.

“Stay as far away from this place as possible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2010

I had reservations for 2 nights. I barely made it through 1 night. This hotel is by far the most disgusting place I've ever been in my life. The carpet is disgusting. The bed was uncomfortable and smelled weird. The tv didn't work the door didn't lock correctly. When I asked if I could use the vacuum to clean the carpet myself I was told no. There was garbage and rotten food and cigarette butts from whoever was in the room before me still in the room. The shower was broken so I couldn't take a shower. When I told the lady at the front desk about all the things that were wrong she said she wasn't surprised she's heard it before. As I said stay as far away from this place as possible it is absolutely horrible
