We did a family of four stay during the holiday week (Dec 25 – Jan 1) and came away quite satisfied with what was to be expected from an Embassy Suites Hotel.
Situated in the City of Brea just outside of Anaheim, this ideal staging area hotel gave you the ability to be far away from the hustle and bustle of Anaheim yet just a short drive to all the major parks.
The hotel had some signs of age but was mostly well managed and maintained. Hotel rugs, although dated, did pass the white sock tests. Walls were rock solid.
Some oddities during our stay included only receiving towel sets for three when we had four registered guests. As previously mentioned, the age of the hotel has also caused our shower unit within the room to require repair during out stay. We did notice some food tray items left outside of rooms for substantially long periods of time. The hotel staff was well responsive to all of our requests.
A very appreciation comment goes to the hotel security gentlemen whom took it upon themselves to offer assistance with our luggage during our very late Christmas evening check in. Very thoughtful for their help.
Being close to Pasadena it was expected to have some guests here for the Rose bowl parade, we just didn’t expect a very large band. However the hotel management constructed a solution to provide services like breakfast to the band in a separate location (meeting room). This helped relieve the volume of people during the morning rush. For some reason, during our stay, on the first three days, the breakfast area was very overcrowded even without the band.
Internet access is wireless, however with a corner room, access was challenging and sometimes did not work as well as expected. As a network engineer I found this perplex as I could see the access point for the wireless connection within 25 feet from my room door so I’m unsure why connectivity was such a challenge.
One shortcoming with too many Embassy Suites, this one as well, is the lack of a safe in the room. Now the location is very safe but with plenty of space and cabinets, why not have one in the rooms?
This is an ideal and highly recommended hotel to stay when visiting the Anaheim area. Getting to and from the highways was very accessible.
Notes: This hotel only has an outdoor pool. During our stay, although mild for this time of year, we did not utilize the pool area.
Room Tip: Corner rooms are away from the main center courtyard area. However, these usually have the stairwel...
