I stayed at the Palm Canyon Resort a weekend in January when the winds were up to 100 miles an hour. Shirley and her friendly staff took very good care of our large group of friends. The hotel suffered a lot of damage during this 6 hour wind storm! Shirley was on the grounds all day checking on the guests and into the evening. In fact, the next morning she came in early during our breakfast buffet to see how everything worked out and made sure everyone was OK. She is great and we will return (with our 35 friends) for another stay in the near future.

We have stayed at the Palm Canyon Resort many many times but this is the first time I’m writing a review about our stay. I wanted to share our feedback on how beautiful and clean the property is as well as share the heroic actions of the Hotel Manager, Shirley and her staff following a terrible wind storm that hit the area this past weekend. When we arrived at the hotel early Friday morning, Shirley came out to personally greet us as she had during our previous stays. The staff is always so friendly, professional and eager to do whatever they can to ensure that their guests have a wonderful time during their stay. As we walked around the property with our friends that came with us, we couldn’t help but notice how absolutely perfectly manicured the grounds were and how unusually clean the pools and Jacuzzi were. I am in the travel industry and have stayed at many hotels but I’ve never seen a Jacuzzi as clean as the one I saw at the PCR.
On Saturday we took off in our dune buggys to go exploring for the day. Later in the afternoon the wind started blowing very hard. (My husband has a gadget that measures wind speed and it was registering 60mph with gusts of up to 90-100mph!!!) When we returned to the hotel late in the afternoon it looked like a war zone. There was sand, tree branches and debris everywhere. The wind was so strong that it blew parts of a metal roof off of a building about ¼ mile away – we found it wedged under my SUV. The metal piece was so big and heavy that it took two guys to pull it out and carry it to the dumpster. The once pristine pool and Jacuzzi was now black - filled with dirt, leaves and pieces of roofs and furniture. The staff was rushing around cleaning up the mess while Shirley was walking the property checking on the safety and well being of her in house guests. I watched Shirley as she was assisting two men on motorcycles find a safe secure location to park their motorcycles so they wouldn’t fall over and be damaged. A few minutes later, she was in the RV park checking on her guests. When I looked out the window one last time before I went to bed that night, I saw that Shirley was still out walking the property and checking on her guests. We were so impressed by Shirley’s genuine care and concern about the safety and well being of her guests. We were also very impressed with the staff’s speed in which they worked to get the property back to its pristine state as quickly as possible.
By the next morning, everything they could remove and take care of without heavy equipment was gone and it was starting to look back to normal again. We drove around town later and there was significant damage and destruction everywhere you looked. I want to applaud Shirley and her team for their prompt response and heroic actions to ensure the safety and security of their guests. We were so impressed – we will never stay anywhere else when we visit Annza Borrego because of how her team responded to this emergency. Thank you Shirley – well done.

Wonderful experience, Sabrina @ the Palm Canyon RV Resort bent over backwards to make our stay special. After telling her this was for my husbands birthday she personally went and viewed all available rooms to find the one that had the best view for my husband' s hobby (photography). The pool and hot tub were pristine and the place was sooo quiet! I slept like a rock. We hiked Palm Canyon and saw 3 Big horned Sheep. We love Borrego Springs! We will be back...

This is my first ever review of any kind, but I felt compelled to write a review on Palm Canyon Resort RV Park. I made reservations with Shirley over the phone, and she bent over backwards to help us stay in one site as we needed to add on a few days. Actually, the whole staff in the office, as well as "golf cart hosts" were so friendly and helpful when we checked in and also during our stay. We saw Shirley "walking the grounds", wishing us a wonderful day, and you knew she would have helped you, if you needed anything. The bathrooms were immaculate, as well as the showers. The pull thru sites were large enough that we would have been able to have 2 vehicles, as well as our 40 ft. motor home in it. The spaces were raked and clean when we arrived. And what can I say about the price - very reasonable, includes a very clean pool and well needed jacuzzi !! Our (Ford) bronco club stays there every year, and would never want to stay anywhere else. It is nice to have the choice to either stay in the hotel or rv park, and be within a few feet of your friends. This year, Shirley was notified by the police that a man was missing out in the desert for 3 days, and on one of our runs, we found him, helped him with clothing, something to drink, and waving down the helicopter, taking him to the hospital. (his feet were badly burned, his face was blackened from his jeep which caught on fire, and while trying to get to the fire extinguisher which didn't work, his shoes got melted to the floor, and thus burned his feet.) It felt really good to do something for a stranger, but that is how our club is, a group of really good people who just want to pay it forward. The notice from Shirley probably saved the man's life, as he was in shock, and was shaking all over. Also, another thank you goes out to the restaurant on site, they made us a breakfast burrito which we requested 2 days in a row (which was delicious, but not even on the menu !! -- yum :)
If you are looking for an inexpensive way to just get out of the city and look at the stars at night, and hear the coyotes from a distance, this is the place to go. You won't be disappointed. Thanks you all !!
