“Generally great but one significant slip-up”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

Room was comfortable. Appeared to be very clean, but....the toilet seat had some brown splashes on it. How does a housekeeper miss that??!? It cleaned up easily and every other surface in the hotel appeared clean, but it did gross me out a bit. (Front desk promised they would address with housekeeping, took my complaint very seriously.) 42" flat screen TV's were nice but there is no HD signal, and the screen sizes were set wrong so everything looked fat and bloated on the TV. If you are going to offer widescreen TV's then you need to get it right!
Bed very comfy, desk staff helpful, I had some noisy neighbors but fortunately they quieted down early. (Honestly, some people are totally clueless about not shouting when walking past guest rooms!!). Located on north end of town but most sites on the main strip were within walking distance.

Room Tip: There is a back area away from the highway, but those rooms are filled first.

“Good stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

Just got back from two nights at this BW.

Noticed the complaints about cleanliness, but have to say I found nothing to back-up those claims. Room and bathroom all very clean, no complaints whatsoever.

Easy check-in and check-out, friendly people.

Room a bit small to fit two queen beds -- you have to squeeze by the second bed to get to the sink area. Closest space very large.

Room has a microwave and refrigerator, and Wolfgang Puck coffee (pods), which was delicious.

They advertise 42" TVs in the room, and ours had one, although the picture quality wasn't the best.

WI fi worked just fine.

I didn't find the breakfast area to be "that" small -- there were perhaps a half dozen tables, and there is a large table in the lobby area for overflow. Breakfast adequate, enough to get you started. No eggs or bacon/sausage, but a waffle maker is available for getting that filled-up feeling to start the morning.

Parking opposite the rooms. No road noise at all.

Would stay there again, definitely.

“Dog friendly hotel that is clean and smoke free”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

I do think pet fees are far to high for well behaved pets. Mine weighs 5# and is better than most children, yet I have to pay $25 to have her in the room, the same as a huge, rowdy, non housebroke dog. I would rather pay a higher deposit that would be refunded if there was not damage to the room. But I digress.... The hotel has only 5 pet rooms and they have vinyl laminate flooring. At first I thought YUK, but when I got into the room it felt so much cleaner than one with carpet that often make me keep my shoes one. There was no bad odor from past pets and the overall room just seemed cleaner.
I would definitely stay here again if I go to Bishop, CA

Thank you for your recent review regarding your stay in our pet friendly rooms with wood laminate flooring. We are happy that the room exceeded your expectaions and appreciate your comments regarding the pet fee. It usually take double the time to clean a pet friendly room which is the reason for the fee. We hope that you will choose to stay with us again at the BEST WESTERN PLUS Bishop Holiday Spa Lodge. If we can help you with anything else, we would be happy to hear from you at 760-873-3543.

“A Basic room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

We stayed here for one night on the way into Yosemite. The location is fine, but the hotel has seen better days. The room was updated, but still felt old. The breakfast area is awkward and small, although the food was ok. We wanted to use the jacuzzi but it is not outside with the pool... in it's own room in another building.

“Any port in a Storm”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

Left booking late and had little choice

Average type of place. Average pool. Average Breakfast.

Drove up from Vegas and was somewhat tired. Thought the booking via Expedia was final. Found out added extras chucked on the Bill as you sign out. (Why do some place do that!). Could not be bothered going thru the Small Print but just makes you feel uncomfortable. (doesn't it?). Perhaps the norm in Bishop.

Room Tip: Average all seem the same.
