Was looking for an affordable motel for my family of four over Thanksgiving holiday. After talking to the manager, Sherry, by phone two months prior, I was quoted $100 per night. I thought that was pretty reasonable for this older motel with dated furnishings. (The pictures shown on website are a true representation of the rooms so there were no surpises when we checked in.) At the time of booking, I asked Sherry if she was going to send me a confirmation and she said, no that she had me down and that was enough. It seemed odd to me and since we travel so much and always have confirmations, I decided to email myself with the the information, date, time, rate etc. so I would have something in writing for myself. As it turned out, my husband checked us in and I had not discussed the rate with him. Later that evening he handed me the receipt and I was shocked to see the rate of $150 instead of the $100 per night as I had booked! The next day, I went to the office to speak to Sherry but she was not available. I explained to the gentleman at the office that I thought there was an error. He said he would talk to Sherry about this but I never heard back from the office. I decided to make another attempt at getting refund but,of course, the office was closed the day we were departing. I would never have agreed to pay $150 for this room and as I mentioned above, based on the website photos of the rooms I knew exactly what I was getting into, room wise! My recommendation to anyone staying here in the future, make sure you get a confirmation/room rate in writing! Also, to the management, why don't you spend a little money and upgrade your mattresses and pillows. Mattress was old and very uncomfortable (room 15) It's pretty sad when your pillow feels like it belongs on the menu at a pancake house.
