I don't usually post gripes about the staff however in this hotel, both staff members at front desk were terse and rude, particularly the Mexican lady who called herself Chiquita. Perhaps they were both having bad days.

The rooms themselves were average - clean, but decor was dated. In particular the bedding. Main gripe is the air-con - have it on and it's very loud, turn it off and you overheat. The restroom was fine, they provided toiletries and clean towels at least. I would probably not stay at Chiquita's again unless it was absolutely necessary, even in Bishop there are 3 or 4 others which appear better. But definitely not the worst hotel I've stayed in - should probably be cheaper to reflect what's inside.

We stayed here one night when travelling from yosemite to Las Vegas. Nice service, OK hotel. Not the newest in town, but good value for money.

We have stayed at this chain before, but after this one - never again. The front desk clerk was very unfriendly and the room was sub-par. The bathroom was TINY and the toiletries and fixtures were CHEAP. If you are only staying for one night (like my husband and me), it is tolerable, but we will never stay there again.

Upon our arrival the booking we had made, was lost. There was no room available. If you make a booking weeks in advance via the web site booking.com with your credit card, you expect at least to get a solution offered by the hotel when they make a mistake. The guy at the desk said he did see our names in the system but didn't know what went wrong. As we had no idea where to go, we arrived late at night in Bishop after a long drive of 6 hours, we ended up sharing a room with 4. For what concerns La Quinta, never again.
