We checked in on April 20 due to long traveling from San Diego and heading home to Susanville, CA. After 6 hours on the road with a 2 year old we decided to stay in Bishop. We normally stay at another place but they were full and our second choice was the same...booked! So we pulled into this buggy place and decided to stay. We were so tired that we didn't take our luggage in (thank God) but just our must have (s). Our room was #130, according to the receptionist it was the last room. It was also a room for wheel chairs access. Long story short...late that night upon taking my granddaughter to the toliet we noticed ants on the floor by the toliet. Gross...!! In the morning I noticed more. I took a toliet paper and made sure I got most of them before entering the shower. I noticed red bumps on the back of my arm but thought it was a sun burn. As I was getting my hair ready to be blowed dried I turned it on and started to proceed. I heard funny noises and as they got louder I looked at the end of the dyer and noticed red sparks inside just blasting with that loud noise. Before I was able to turn it off my hand was shocked. I turned it off and unplugged it. My hand was tingy and at that time I was upset....I told my hubby as he saw it happened and said they needed to know about this as this room is for the handicap accessable. I talked to I believe her name was Veronica. She wrote the infomation down. I told her that the blow dyer needed to be tossed and what happened. She said sorry as a man was sitting on the counter talking to her. I told her that I would be in touch with the mangaer and she just nodded her head. As we proceeded to travel home our 2 year old said she had ouches on her back on legs. OMG...yeah she did...I was pissed. And mine looked like a road map. Hubby had just a few as they all fed on us. As of today no phone call from anyone. I had a doctors appointment in Reno as we only returned from our trip yesterday. I will be calling tomorrow for sure. Will post to share what they say and what they do.... Until they get a handle on the bed bugs....it's better to sleep in your car if that is the only place avaliable. I wished I had read the reviews before staying but it was a last minute and we were exhausted. DONT STAY AT THE LA QUINTA IN BISHOP (BUGS), CA!!!!!!!
