We stayed Saturday, October 1st for one night since the Octoberfest is across the street, and we didn't want to drink and drive. The location is across the small convention center that is used entirely for the Octoberfest during Mid September to end of October and it's a BLAST!
The motel 6 doesn't have many guest during the week sunday trough thursday, friday and saturday nights are overpriced for a motel 6 chain, but i guess that's their only income during OFF season. The rate is $86 for 2 adults plus tax and can go up to $100 - OUCH.
Pro: when you use the visit for the octoberfest only, (again: only steps across the street),
no long wait at midnight for a taxi to get you back to where else you find a bed, no DUI.
Cons: very firm mattress, lot's of noice from highway and partying guest into the weeee hours.
In addition we had a wake up call from the fire detector - beeped and beeped and from guest
getting coffee and sceeming infront of our room, don't get room 201 above the office!!!!
P.S. new for motel 6 chain, some rooms have microwave and small refrigerator for extra costs. MeuterMedia

DO NOT stay at this hotel the staff is rude and dirty.
There was bugs in this hotel left over food and used condoms on the floor, overall the most disturbing experiance I have every had at any motel, not to mention they didnt refund our money.

So... It was a Motel 6. Any questions?

Industrial, stained carpet. Lumpy, uncomfortable bed with threadbare sheets and blanket. Remodel type shower only unit. Minimum legal shower size. If you're a heavy person, it's gonna be tight. Towels were the small, rough, type.

Grounds were nice. Ample parking.

INCREDIBLY NOISY (Bar/Bands) for those facing Big Bear Blvd.

I stayed here with a few of my high school freinds as we prepared to hike Mount San Gorgonio, and did not want to pitch a tent. Considering we got in at 9pm and were leaving at 6am, we didn't expect much. However, I was shocked as to how bad this was.
My main qualm with this motel is that the bed was unbelievably itchy. It felt like the sheets had not been changed for days. I rolled around endlessly trying to find a comfortable position, and simply could not. So, I got about 6 hours of pretty poor sleep. My two friends felt the same way.
For Big Bear, this is a very cheap hotel, which is why it recieves two stars instead of one - it's certainly a bargain. However, for a better night of sleep, I would have paid to stay at Best Western. Make your choice! Just be warned, it's worse then an average Motel 6.
