“Charming rooms with superior service”

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The rooms exceeded my expectations with a very large bathroom equipped with both a jacuzzi bathtub and a separate enclosed shower, double sinks, plenty of towels, and terrycloth bathrobes. Also, the small kitchen area had a refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave, electric teapot, and coffee maker--with both regular and decaf fresh ground coffee. Peaceful garden with areas where guests can sit and read or eat. Wendy was very helpful and flexible, fixing a great breakfast tray for which you can let her know the day before your choices and preferred time, or even choose a voucher for coffee and pastry for nearby bakery or coffe shop. Hope to come back soon!

“Very best of all lodging in Berkeley”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2011

I have travelled to Berkeley frequently for years. I have stayed in all of the many possibilities for lodging in Berkeley. The Brick Path is light years beyond everything else in terms of the beauty, comfort and peacefulness of the surroundings, and the host, Wendy, who is extremely reliable and always gracious. The location is also great...everything you could need or want a short distance away. There is nothing not to just love about this place. Wendy has put together a real model B &B experience.

“One of a kind jewel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2010

Brick Path is a secret, tucked away spot in a 5* location. Park your car and walk the delightful Berkeley paths, walk to Solano Ave for a range of exotic restaurants & for a bookstore browse @ Pegasus. Shop for clothes or grab a great coffee drink @ Pete's. Andronico's market is 1/2 block away if you want to dine in and enjoy Wendy's inviting garden. Even though it's right on Marin Ave it's delightfully serene & quiet. Unlike other B&B's you have the total privacy and luxury of a perfect kitchenette where you can enjoy the privacy of your tastefully decorated room. Just read the guest book to see how many visitors have returned again, & again, & again. I'm one of them. Traveling solo as a single woman is cozy and safe @ the Brick Path. Wendy is a treasure of an inn keeper.

“You Won't Go Wrong With The Brick Path...Not By A Longshot!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2010

Trust Wendy Sprague to take good care of you. The Fireplace Room, the most affordable, is spacious, beautifully maintained, and there's that fireplace to keep you warm and add that special ambiance. Room is super-clean, which is a must for me. Parking is easy breezy and just around the corner is a cool street with two cafes/bakeries for which Wendy will offer gift certificates if you don't want breakfast personally delivered. And did I mention the gardens and grounds are gorgeous?

“Perfect in Every Way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2010

From the personal email responses from proprietor Wendy Sprague before the trip, to the effort to make everything as pleasant as possible once we were there -- the Brick Path Bed and Breakfast is perfect in every way. The location is fantastic for those wishing to be in a Berkeley residential neighborhood, and yet the proximity to Solano Avenue and its array of restaurants, coffee shops, and stores is unmatched.

The room we stayed in (the Fireplace Room) was cozy and convenient; for those wishing for more privacy than a conventional bed and breakfast, it's a nice touch that the three rooms have their own entrances (and keys) along a beautiful little path off the street, and -- if you do not want the room-service breakfast (or, like us, would prefer to sleep in) -- you can opt for gift certificates/coupons to your choice of an excellent nearby bakery or coffee shop.

I've already recommended this bed and breakfast to other friends and family visiting Berkeley, and I will continue to do so. Fantastic choice.
