“WORST”

Upon arrival was greeted promptly, this is the only good thing to say..
Everythiong was downhill from there, the room reaked of smoek from cigs. The hotel was supposed to be non smoking. My wife and I dropped off our luggage and proceeded to go to our daughters college. Returning later that even 8:30pm went into room, and folded down bead spread, to our surprise found Dried blood on blankets. there was also dried bron substance on bathroom light switches. Contacted front desk and asked for a new room, was told a call back would be made 1/2 passed and no call from front desk. Eventually booked at another hotel. Discusting....!!!!!

“Where's my Dog Tag?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2010

Clean! 2 rooms cheaper than 1 room at hotels nearby that took dogs! That gave us a lot more room and relaxation. And the dog didn't have to fit with two people in a double bed. (OK Petsmart lost the dog tag, not motel 6)

“Awful, terrible and smelly”

Don't let the nice lobby fool you. As soon as we went into the hallway, it had a yucky odor; stale cigarette smoke and dirty socks. Our room didn't smell that much better. We are pretty easy to please; and since we bring our elderly dog with us, we know this isn't a TOP hotel room but this was awful. We have stayed at many motel 6 with our dog, and have always been okay with it. Our room was on the bottom floor, next to the pool. The room smelled so bad we went out and bought air spray- opened the window; no screens. Security guard told us this was a PARTY MOTEL - sheets were stiff and scratchy on one bed, and thread bare thin on the other. Towels had hair on them. TV had bad reception and was a 1980 model. No ice - the vending area was flithy. AM coffee was lukewarm, no sugar or cream. Horrible. The only good thing, was the shower - water pressure was awesome.

“Wonderful service and excellent value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2010

This was a real last minute booking as my husband asked me to accompany him to a full day IT seminar. I had only stayed at a Motel 6 once before in my life, and was nervous about booking, but this was the only place still available that accepted pets.

We drove up from LA and checked in at approx 4:30 PM Mon, June 7. There was a young woman and man at check in. Both extremely efficient and friendly. Very accommodating about our request to be on the quite side of the motel.

Surprise--these were indoor hallways with indoor front door access! So it did not have that motel feeling with the outside entry to the room.

At the room, I saw a member of the housekeeping staff in the hallway and requested an extra towel which she brought immediately. After we have been in the room about an hour, the young woman at front desk called to check that every thing was fine. (never get a call like that at the Westin!) When I jokingly asked about a coffee maker, she let me know about the suites with kitchenette--I did not know that Motel 6 had those. The front desk was kind enough to immediately upgrade us to the larger room. I was so surprised that it was only $10 more. Well worth it for our needs!

The room and beds were very comfortable, TV worked, and bathroom was spotless. (They only provide soap; nothing fancy as far as amenities.) Internet access was a couple of bucks for 24 hours and pretty fast.

We had our dog with us and I always use plastic bags to clean up after the dog, but forgot to bring some. While walking, I saw the housekeeping office. A young man working there gave me a supply of small plastic bags. The young man was very nice, courteous, and very willing to help.

By the way, the hotel grounds were very clean, attractive, and well-kept. My dog and I enjoyed the walking path nearby, too. The Oracle business center was right across the street and very pretty to walk around, too.

We ordered dinner from the In Room service menu (the Italian restaurant) that delivered. I thought a little overpriced, but my husband really enjoyed the food which was enough for 2 meals. Afterwards, they also called to be sure that we liked everything.

The second night, I requested extra coffee from the front desk; again, they were very nice and gave me extra creamer and sugar as well.

When we upgraded to the suite, we were in Building D, 3rd floor. The *only* problem was that the cigarette smell was very heavy in the hallway and would filter into the room sometimes when we opened the door. We had non-smoking room, but maybe they should assign entire non-smoking floor.

The A/C unit was just a little noisy.

Did not see a single store or "Starbucks" anywhere around; so be prepared! The coffee shop next door serves breakfast and lunch. My husband loved his oatmeal and fruit smoothie, and I thought the latte was excellent.

Overall, this was a fine stay and I would highly recommend the Belmont Motel 6.

“Disgusting!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2008

As one stated in a previous review, the outside looks nice, but the inside was a different story. We had two rooms booked in August for three nights and after viewing the rooms, we had to find a different place to stay. When you first enter the building, the halls smell of dirty, wet socks. People, who looked like they were living there were hanging around smoking cigarettes. The carpet looked horrible. The rooms were no better. One of them had a huge, what looked like, blood-stain on the rug plus stains on the sheets. The other one had rips in the sheets. When we complained, the staff was pleasant enough, asking if we would like to change rooms, but we weren't interested at all. They told us there had been some sewage drainage at one point ,(I am assuming this year) and it flooded the rooms and corridor. Apparently they brought in something to clear away the drainage but didn't replace the rugs. What kind of operation would do that! Needless to say, we will never stay in a Motel 6 again.

  • Liked — Staff was polite...exterior was nice.
  • Disliked — Condition of interior.
