I found the hotel quite comfortable. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and included sofa with coffee table. The water pressure in the shower was only moderate. The property is located near the main freeway and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. USA Today was at the front door in the morning. Not certain about breakfast as not included into the rate.

This is a nice Holiday Inn with mid sized suites and a nice litte indoor pool. Upon arrival, we were bacically ordered to keep our kids quiet, because "we have a lot of business customers staying here who spend a lot of money with us." First of all, they weren't making any noise, and I didn't appreciate the assumption that they did not know how to behave nor that we would not make them. Second, I spent just as much money for that room as all those other customers and deserved the same respect. Because of this attitude, I would not stay here again despite the nice, clean suite. Apparently, someone forgot to tell this front desk staff that Holiday Inn was founded specifically to cater to families by a founder who thought the other chains shouldn't be charging extra for kids.

This is a very clean, basic hotel room. There is no bar fridge, no microwave and it is in a rather incovenient industrial area. There is nothing close that was appealing to eat at and the nearest grocery store was an Albertson's and Trader Joe's about 4 miles away. There is a restaurant on-site but we didn't use it nor pay for the breakfast the next am.Biggest complaint is I booked this as a pet friendly hotel only to learn that their pet friendly rooms are on the second floor! The smoking rooms are on the ground floor. We didn't get much sleep because the room was incredibly hot when we checked in and the air conditioner is really loud. If you want a relatively cheap hotel room that is clean this is for you, but we won't be staying there again. There is a Marriot Springhill Suites and Hilton Garden Hotel next door.

This hotel is located off of Rosedale Highway, (off the 99, on Marriott drive), which is in a row of about 6-8 hotels, about 1 block south of the main drag. We have typically stayed at the Marriott, but the rooms have never been big enough (we have 3 teens). We've stayed in Bakersfield often, on the way to Yosemite, and we were pleasantly surprised by this new hotel. We had a room with 2 queen beds, flat screen tv, 1 mini kitchen, with microwave and fridge. The decor is the dark mahogany look. The front room had a fold-out bed and flat screen tv. The kids liked the access to all of the channels. It was 98 degrees outside but inside the AC worked well. Almost too well, it was cold in our room because we couldn't figure out the funky temperature control. The indoor pool reeked of chlorine, but I guess that is necessary. The exercise room was comfortably AC'd. Lots of parking available. We didn't have breakfast included which would have been nice because we had to go out and get something down the road. The hotel was very new and very clean.
