“Exceeded Expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

This was our 3rd night on the road en route to Palm Desert. We decided to just stop along the highway rather than go into Bakersfield. We were not immediately impressed with the hotel location. The only restaurants in the vicinity were IHOP & Carl's Jr.! But we were tired and stayed anyway. We were glad we did. (IHOP turned out to be surprisingly good for dinner!) Although the hotel is VERY close to the highway the noise was not all that bad. The room was really clean & recently refurbished. The bed was comfortable and (a small thing) they supplied shower caps! The breakfast was excellent. There was a coffee machine that made variations on coffee drinks plus they had a waffle maker. I would definitely stay here again.

“Business stay not a bad stop for a night or 2”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

This was a very nice room. Had a King bed non-smoking. Good size and very clean. Loved to have the wi-fi and I was even able to video chat with the kids over it.

“Nice Suprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

I have been traveling in a truck very slowly (150 miles/day) from Tucson to Washington. So, this is my 4th night staying at roadside motels, and this is the best one yet. Normally, I spend 75 or more nights at Marriott properties.
The room I stayed in was newly and nicely remodeled. Comparable to a Marriott Courtyard or Hampton Inn. Very nice new bed, fridge, microwave, 32" flat screen TV. Very clean room with new carpet. Free internet, wireless was too weak in my room 115. However, the hard line worked fine.

The bummer of this hotel is the proximity to the I5 freeway. The row of rooms that I was in has a back wall that parallels the freeway. When I got to the room I could both feel and hear the trucks rumble by. Fortunately, I was very tired, and this did not bother my sleep. If you are a light sleeper, this is not the hotel for you.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the wing that is perpendicular to the freeway. It may be a little quieter.

“Clean, reasonably priced, yet very loud near freeway.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

First off, this is listed as a Bakersfield hotel, and the address is Bakersfield on their invoice, but it was actually right off I-5 near Buttonwillow. I picked this hotel because it accepted pets. The room was immaculately clean, the room furnishings were okay (nothing exciting-pretty standard), but the noise from the freeway was really bad. We were upstairs in room 226 and it sounded like were sleeping on the side of the road. My child had a hard time going to sleep because he said there were "dinosaurs roaring outside." The hotel provides free continental breakfast in the lobby, but we opted to eat at a nearby Ihop instead, which was good. Please note: we had gotten the last room available. The front desk person told me that they sell out most weekends because of people traveling.

Room Tip: Ask for a room farthest away from the freeway.
