I stayed at this hotel to get away from it all with my pregnant girlfriend, what I ended getting was a very unpleasent experience. I decided to stay two nights you would think that they would be happy to have business, and treat me with hospitality. Instead i was made to feel uncomfortable, like i was a person off the street instead of a paying guest. The front desk staff was a joke completely unprofessional and rude at best. The manager if you can call her that was impossible. She made me feel unwanted and like I said I stayed two nights! She gave me a special rate due to the fact they were beyond slow. The room smelled funny, and I thought it was because of the food we had brought in with us to eat but it didnt go away. The room felt muggy the whole time the pool was dirty and very cold the hottub didnt get hot. Breakfast was awful the counters were dirty, the toasters were rusty, the cereal dispensers had stale cereal, and the flies were running the place. The mangager was very rude and so unfriendly! I wanted to take food to my room and was treated like i was back in school at the lunch line. It was wrong to me to be treated like i wasnt wanted there. Im am still angry! DONT STAY HERE stay at the hampton inn on cali and oak, thats were we normaly stay and I will never go anywhere else. YOU get what you pay for lessoned learned.

we stayed in this hotel a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it, so this is why I chose this same hotel again,, wow what a nightmare, it was totally different, out of the 5 days we stayed there, the room was cleaned 3 times only because I complained about this, when I asked why our room wasn't being cleaned, I was told that every other day housekeeping comes in between 3 and 4!!!What?? I had to ask for towels and make our own beds, like I had all the time to do this, with an elderly father and handicapped person. This person I complained to happened to be the Manager!!!! when she asked if she could talk to me, she offered 20.00 back on my 400.00 bill!!what an insult, I told her I had to come back one last time a couple of days later, and she stuck to her 20.00, I mean she could have offered at least half off our next stay. but it was all good, I did not except the 20.00 and I did tell her I would write a review, but that didnt make a difference to her. Somethings going on there, new owner? It was a crying shame that this hotel went down so quickly from our other stay. I was so disapointed, if you stay here, make sure you're not going to mind the room not being clean when you get back. I rate this at the lowest on this trip and I stayed at 5 hotels this trip. I guess I just cant get over the 20.00 offer, what a shame. Oh yes I dd make sure it was pretty clean when we left, I didnt want them to say anything about us, like I had all the time in the world to do someones eleses job. NASTY NASTY, not to mention the water bugs... what happened???????I would never recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for one night in Feb. 2009. We booked this hotel because we could stay 5 in in one room. I travelled with my husband, 2 kids and a teenager.
No problems with check in. The room had a "funky" smell and didn't look to good. At least the fridge worked. We were 5 and had almost no toiletpaper - the bathroom looked old and we didn't get the fosset or the toilet working 100%.
The sheets were clean, but the blankets were not. The sleeper sofa was terrible. My 19 year old son could not bare to sleep on it. The springs were coming out of the mattress....
I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and when I saw a roach.. that was it. We didn't even take a shower the next morning - we just got our stuff together and were out of the hotel by 8 in the morning. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Space, price and convenience are reasons to stay at the Garden Suites Inn. I knew about the last two when booking it for an engagement in Bakersfield which would see me out of the room during most of my stay. The surprise was how large the room turned out to be. Despite these advantages, the rooms have seen a lot of traffic and would be uncomfortable spending alot of time. Then again may consider couches eat you up and the molded fibreglass peeking through foot worn enamel of the tub to be charming. In that case, stay a week!
