Prior to becoming a Rosedale this hotel used to be a Red Lion. We travel with our small dog and the Red Lion has a Dog Club of sorts and a one time sign up fee and from then on your dog stays free.
In 2010 we went back to the same location (Vancouver to Palm Desert route) and as it was late we decided to stay at this new name hotel anyway. They waived their pet charge as we had been Red Lion clients and they welcomed us and our pet.
So this year, in October 2011 we went back to the Rosedale. I said we had a dog, my husband and the dog came to the front desk, we signed the pet damage form, and they agreed to waive the pet fee ($20) once again.
When I got home I saw that our Visa bill was $20 higher than the bill I signed at the hotel.
When I called they accused me of "perhaps trying to sneek the dog in" and that $20 is the pet charge. Once again I had signed the pet damage form, he was right beside me and the lady at the front dest said they would again waive the fee. The Manager I spoke to was not pleasant, would not budge on reversing the $20. Fine. We have plenty of hotels to choose from in our travels. Bye Bye Rosedale.
