We stayed at the Clarion Hotel in Bakersfield after flying into LAX earlier in the day. We're pleasantly surprised to find out that the rooms were very modernized with only flat screen televisions, but other modernized electronics. The lobby and rooms were very clean and the hotel was very close to restaurants and the freeway. Additionally, the beds were very clean and incredibly comfortable. Definitely will return here in the future.

Stayed here for one night in mid January 2012. Good property in a good location. Very comfortable beds and a nice clean room. Will definitely stay here again.

The room, bathroom and beds are all extremely small. My spouse had to sleep in a separate bed.. The sink to wash one's face is outside the bathroom! We asked for a king/queen and were told it was unavailable even tho the parking lot was less than one third full. This particular motel seems to appeal to long-distance truckers. An extremely unpleasant smell in the hallway (like swimming pool chlorene). The complimentary breakfast was mediocre.. We left ASAP in the AM w/o showering: that's how anxious we were to flee that place!
Shame on Hotwire for featuring this motel at all, least of all as a 3-star motel. A room at a local Motel 6 would have been better/more inviting; unfortunately, we'd prepaid so we were stuck but we seriously discussed continuing to drive the additonal four hours to our home rather than stay here.

Stayed here based on good trip advisor reviews. Disappointed to say the least. Rooms are clean but low class, old, hallways are smelly, just not what we expect for $95 + taxes.
