I was traveling from the San Bernardino area up to Bakersfield on business. The Clarion was very conveinently located right off of State Route 99. It was really a pleasant hotel. The room was very clean and well maintained. It had a desk, coffee table, couch a large chest of drawers with a cabnet that held a 32" TV, a queen sized bed and a good sized closet (for a hotel room). It also had a small refridgerator, a coffeemaker, and a toaster oven. The bathroom was generally small and the bathtub could have been a bit bigger but as with the rest of the room everything was quite clean and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable, better than average for most hotels I've stayed in. The staff was very polite and very helpful and on the one occasion I asked for something to be brought to my room (plastic cutlery I think it was) their response time was very good. They served a complementary breakfast each morning in the Japanese resturant in the lobby of the hotel. The food was ok, nothing really to write home about but it's hard to complain when it's free. The Japanese Reasturant was a bit over priced for what it was. In all it was a good value for the money. I would recommend it to a friend.
