“A beautiful, relaxing retreat!!”

We were so impressed with Paula & Ken's cooking, kindness and super clean, spacious cabin. It was exactly what we were looking for...a place to get away from everything and hang out. Nobody around....no intrusiveness...the only time we saw other people was when we went to eat.
Went on a beautiful hike over on the Couple's Resort, bear trail...which was just stunning. Took amazing pictures too, which I will post as soon as I can.

A truly romantic weekend for my hubby and myself, we will return, no doubt about that!!
Thanks again to Ken & Paula for their superb care.

“beautiful relaxing cabin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2011

We stayed in Tabago. Pro's beautiful large jacuzzi/fireplace with loads of wood/satellite TV and radio/Wifi/ refrig/coffee maker/SEPARATE TEA POT!/wine glasses and opener/king size bed/clean clean clean. Staff very friendly/meals were enjoyable, variable(fish, vegetarian, meat option each night) and allowed to bring wine in. The Park just a short distance away if you wanted or simply close the curtains and stay in....no one to bother you. For everyone who wanted entertainment made for them this is not the place. Ken and Paula want you to enjoy each other and enjoy the Park. The Couples Resort, nearby gives options for more entertainment/spa/etc which you can do from the adventure lodge. We stayed at our Cabin and just enjoyed each other.. We did go dog-sledding at wilderness adventures. We also went snowshoeing in the Park. Con's are truly hard to think of. I guess the only thing that comes to mind is that the cabins are close together and the walking path is close and so you couldn't leave the curtains open to enjoy the scenery while enjoying the jacuzzi, or while being in bed as your neighbor would have quite the view. But close the curtains......and enjoy!

“Our best winter holiday to date!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2011

This was our second trip to Adventure Lodge and we certainly were NOT disappointed! The value for what you get is absolutely incredible! We stayed in the Virgin Island cabin and it was spacious and wonderful with a wood-burning fireplace that we kept stoked and loved. The jacuzzi was amazing as well.

Ken was an incredible host! As the last reviewer said, he did it all, and he did it with a smile on his face and always took the time to chat with the guests! Everyone staying there loved Ken! This guy was working from 7 a.m. until 10 or 11 p.m. daily and running the entire lodge on his own while Paula was away. I've never seen a man who can multi-task as well as he did! Despite how busy he was, we never felt like we were imposing on him when we asked for anything (ice for the room, our dessert wrapped up so we could take it to our room). He was always willing to go the extra mile for us (or any other guest there). Being able to bring our own wine to dinner was also a huge plus for us!!

If you love to cross-country ski, then this is the vacation you need to take!! We stayed 4 nights (midweek) for just a couple of dollar over $600, meals, tax and tip included. The meals were awesome and the cabins were worth more than $150 a night (even if we hadn't gotten fed!). The skiing at Leaf Lake in Algonquin is absolutely amazing, with the Pinetree loop being one of the premiere skiing trails in all of Southern Ontario, incredible!!

We will definitely be returning to Adventure Lodge again next year as our anniversary get-away! We used to stay at the Couples Resort (formerly Bear Trail) across town, but the value at Adventure Lodge has definitely won us over (as well as the friendly and helpful staff).

We were sad to leave there today and can't wait to return again.

“great reasonably priced getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2011

Cosy & romantic log cabins with king size bed, double jacuzzi and wood burning fireplace.
We ski on the rail trail right outside the door along the river and into Algonquin Park.
Good dinner & breakfast included in price.

“incredible value!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2011

All I can say to the people slagging this place is you can't please everyone!
Maybe there were some growing pains as this place is still expanding.

We stayed at the "Tobago" cabin

Our "log" cabin was clean, with modern amenities, woodburning fireplace and large Jacuzzi...the food is tasty and top notch value for the money spent.. It is quiet, solitary and lots of space between the cabins.. the (4) feet comment is a joke.

This place is meant to be an intimate, rustic and quiet getaway..not a be a busy 5 star luxury.

There were 5 other couples there and all of us had nothing bad to say about the service or quality of stay.

Ken was running the place by himself and he did an outstanding job. Cooking/serving breakfast, doing laundry&preparing rooms for the next guests, filling up the wood boxes and then preparing dinner service...He never complained once..Lord knows I would have!

He loved his job and loved to be of service!

For a couple.. $340 for two nights..FOOD INCLUDED, tip in.. this is the deal of the century!
We will return and recommend that you enjoy a relaxing getaway here!
