“Wonderfull and memorable experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2011

The 4-day canoe trip, guided by the wonderful guide Alistair -fun, knowledgable, professional and resourceful park activities expert- was nothing short of great experience, great pleasure. The beauty of nature is owesome, the padelling along the pearl-like lakes, and the camp life/acivities, morning splashes in the christal clear lakes, all this will remain in our memory for long time. Our friend's 9-year old son, and my wife's 18-year old niece from Venezuela, had particularly enjoyable experience.
We think that this experience should be considered by all Canadians, and foreigners alike. Algonquin Park nature/beauties is simply owesome. And the Northern Edge Algonquin company/staff, their respect for pristine nature, all is outstanding.

“Another amazing weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 March 2011

This was my 4th year at the Edge for a girls weekend. Once again the food was amazing, the yoga was perfect and the atmosphere was relaxing. The staff is great- they are flexible and let you plan your day around what you want to do. The buildings are gorgeous log/wood surrounded by wilderness (lake and forest). I would really recommend the Edge. My yearly visit is my favourite weekend of the year!

“Fantastic experience... can't wait to come back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2010

I came here for the Rails, Trails and Ales weekend not knowing what to expect, and came away totally satisfied with the experience. The weekend was well organized and fun, the mountain biking was an exciting challenge, the scenery was breathtaking and the food... absolutely perfect! The host was gracious and the rooms were comfortable and clean. All in all, a great way to see Algonquin Park, and at the perfect time to view the beautiful fall colours.

“A Touch of Canadian Heaven”

A heavenly location, heavenly hosts, and exquisite food. We have known about "The Edge" for years, but never had the chance to visit until this summer. I would return in a heart beat. Living off the grid (truly off the grid, not just a marketing statement) you can a real appreciation for solar powered living - without sacrificing the good things in life! The lake is so clean and filled with island, I recommend any triathlete or open water swimmer visit "The Edge" as you have distances of 800m, 1500m, 4km - everything you'd need to train! And they have tonnes of kayaks so paddling is fantastic, and while we didn't cycle, the daughter of our hosts Todd and Martha treks out on 100 to 120km cycles so everything is there. But what is most profound about the Edge is the sense of place, the ability to truly escape, relax, reflect, appreciate nature, and enjoy one of the many wide open spaces of Canada's beautiful landscapes. They have high-tech compost toilets so city folks - you can survive, and as promised, there were very few bugs! I couldn't believe it but it was true. Their guests range from corporate retreats, to Peruvian Monks (hosted by Martha Lucier a Shamanism specialist), to specialty groups to 'regular folks' just like us. I highly recommend this place for anyone wanting a corporate retreat, wanting to learn about sustainability (host Todd Lucier is one of Al Gore's training team members). Tourism professionals and businesses wanting to know what it is to truly design your business for sustainability and invest strategically for 20 years ahead of the curve - check this place out. In a nutshell - WOW.
