We stopped off here after our trip up Ben Hope at the end of January. The people – staff and locals – could not have been friendlier. Quite often in remote rural places in some parts of Scotland, the locals can be a bit stand-offish and cold and don’t take terribly well to incomers. But this certainly wasn’t the case at the Ben Loyal Hotel. The toilets were first rate too! All-in-all, a great wee place to stop off, in an astonishingly beautiful part of the world.

“Great trip”

My boyfriend and i stayed here for 2 night in november as a base for some hill walking. We were very warmly welcomed and the service throughout our stay was great! The food was good, breakfasts were amazing! The smoked salmon scrambled eggs were brilliant and views from the breakfast room are stunning. The bedroom was really nicely decorated and again had great views.

I would hightly recommend this hotel. The area is lovely if you like plenty of open space and some of the best hillwalking in Scotland.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a room with a view over the water. Very quiet and stunning views

“Excellent Hotel - Top Marks for everything”

Stayed here mid Nov 2011 for a single night whilst in the area for work. Received a lovely warm welcome when we arrived and were both given great rooms with views to the rear of the hotel and the beautiful loch and hills beyond.
We ate in the bar as the reastaurant was holding a private dinner but were offered the same extensive menu and specials.
Food was amazing, super fresh halibut main course was cooked to perfection and scallops later that night with a few choice drams were the icing on the cake!!
Breakfast was taken in the restaurant with views over the loch and again the food did not disappoint.
I am already planning a return trip in the summer of next year for a longer stay and some more delicious seafood and warming hospitality.

Room Tip: Room 5 was lovely and had the views over the lochs and hills to the rear.

My colleague and I stayed here for the night and what can I say - superb! What a lovely hotel with a truly warm welcome..The bar has excellent facilities (pool table/dartboard/juke box) in great condition...The food was amazing, especially the scallops...and the view from the restaurant is stunning! A big shout out to Fergus who was an absolute star!! will certainly be back...whoever manages to give this hotel a poor review (if possible!), must be insane...see you next year Fergus for that seafood platter! :-)

“Relaxing place, Amazing food.”

This is one of the most impressive places in Scotland. The food was excellent (they prepared for a me a dish that was no longer available on the menu), and they let us taking our time to enjoy the dinner and the views.

When we finished, we moved to the lounge, to have a glass of whisky anad enjoy the nice music from a certain distance.

The overall of the place is just unforgettable!!!
