It must be at least at least 10 years since I stayed in any B&B, I thought them good then but standards have either risen considerably or this guest house is an jewel. Any criticism could only be due to the genre or the remoteness of the location. For it is remote, but peaceful and quiet in December.
The accommodation was up there with the 3 star hotels but the style and standards of the decoration more like a boutique 4 star hotel. We were welcomed with the offer of a cup of tea and at dinner had a choice, the food was great with a choice at each course but understandably they wanted notice of your dinner choice asap.
Don't plan to stroll out to the pub in the evening I think it was 7 miles to the nearest one. During the day there was no restriction on access to the rooms but you wouldn't want to go all the way to this magnificent scenery and stay in your room.
