“You get what you pay for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

My fiancee and i stayed here for 3 days last October, it was a last minute get-away and was good value for money. People need to remember that this isnt a 5* hotel, you get what you pay for. Yes, it may look a bit dated & in need of some TLC but it was cheap, cheerful & clean. The room we had was quite small with a double bed and single bed squeezed in, in my opinion the room would have been much better & spacious without the extra single as there wasnt enough storage space for 2 people nevermind 3, i ended up using the spare single bed to put my clothes etc on. However on the plus side, the room was clean, bed was comfortable & never too hot or cold. The ensuite we had was across the corridor from our room which didnt bother me too much, it was solely used for the room we were in. Again, the bathroom was clean and actually really big with plenty of clean fresh towels for us to use. I cant comment on the food as we never ate there, we were up first thing and usually out for the full day so grabbed something to eat on our travels. Everyone in the hotel was friendly and Tony went out of his way for us, my partner & I both like to play pool & were happy to hear that there was a games room, when we arrived the pool table had been stored away as there was an upcoming event being held in that room a few days later but when we asked about the table he was only too happy to bring it back out again for us. if you're looking for a cheap and cheerful few days away id recommend it, if you want 5* go elsewhere.

“Booked for two nights, but couldn't face a second night in that bed!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2011

The smell was the first thing I noticed entering the hotel, like old chip fat. Our room had obviously been recently decorated and looked very nice, however the lovely curtain didn't cover the whole window which was a problem as soon as the sun came up, the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in and the shower had absolutely no power at all and was un-usable.
The bargain price didn't prove to be such a bargain after all :(

This hotel was cheap and cheerful! the decor is bit dated but our room was newly decorated and very nice, the Dining room and conservatory were like a blast from the past but it was still comfortable and the friendly staff make up for it they will help you with anything you need to know about the area! and the food was delicious and very reasonable, We stayed 2 nights and would defo go back its a great sto to discover the trossachs ! well recommended

Room Tip: we had a top floor room at the back and it was nice and quiet with lovely views of the mountains

“Nice place to stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2011

Its a nice place to stay. The staffs are pretty helpful and jolly.

Food was really nice with good quantities but the dinning area need a bit of TLC.

Would surely recommend to people who are not very fussy and looking for a cost effective nice place to stay.

“Fantastic value for money.”

Stayed one night, room clean with great view and comfy bed. Staff go overboard to make you welcome and meet your needs never experienced such quality in that department. Great entertainment in the evening.
