“Great Value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 June 2011

For a bunch of guys , on a weekend fishing trip , this hotel has got it all , it is not the Hilton , but the warm welcome , great food , and comfortable rooms , with an en suite , and hot shower , was all we needed. The staff are fantastic and cannot do enough for you , we were double booked into the bunk room , in error , and given separate rooms , at the same price ! To all the travel snobs who have rubbished this place , I say , get real , you get what you pay for , and with the Munro , you actually get a lot more , Many thanks to Tony , and Teresa , for a great weekend , we will be back , again and again.

“Very good”

The negative reviews of this hotel made me really quite annoyed. We have been fortunate enough to have stayed in numerous hotels over the years, all over the world. What we look for are first cleanliness (which the Munro is), second friendliness (which the Munro is) and third location (the Munro is beautifully located).
This hotel is not a 5 * hotel, nor even a 3 star. It is a 2 star. If you are expecting to lounge around in the pool area, head to the cocktail bar for a Mojito and then have a Michelin star chef cook for you, look elsewhere. If you expect a clean room with friendly, genuine service in a beautiful location, then this is the place for you.

“Awful. Living Hell”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2011 via mobile

This place should not be advertised as a nice place to stay. I wouldn't even let my dog in it! The rooms are dark dingy and smelly. The en suite is a built in box with no ventilation. There is no reception, no working television, no light bulbs, no radiators or heating other than a plug in one. No working kettle- just for show. No remote for unworking television. Never seen a duster and could write your name in the stoor on top of the head board. The entire night was hell. The beds are hand made and not in the good day- they are a wooden box - sleeping on the floor would have been comfier. Wouldn't even have ate in the place. There is an inn a few doors down called the Ben Sheane which is ten times cleaner with big bright rooms. Don't even waste your money at the munro as I wouldn't even stay there again if he paid us forty pounds.

“this isnt even a 1 star hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 May 2011

this is the most noisiest hotel i have ever stayed in the noise went on all night. our room was like a cupboard no room to put anything, ensuite was even smaller than a cupboard, bed would have been comfortable if the hotel had been quiet, maybe we just got time wrong as there was live music, but thats not what made the noise it was residents. food was good, everyone goes on about tony in there reviews, he was drunk at 6pm trying to serve in bar and deliver food. this hotel!!!! needs a damned good dusting and makeover, we will never be back and certainly wouldnt recommend. this hotel is dog friendly which suits some but we nearly had more dogs than people in the hotel.
