“Excellent accommodation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

We stayed at Allerton House for 6 days and could happily have stayed much longer. We received a warm welcome and the accommodation and breakfasts were excellent. Our room was very comfortable and contained every facility you could wish for. Allerton is conveniently situated for local restaurants and, after the meal, one can relax in front of the open fire. Allerton House definitely deserves the highest possible recommendation.

“Great place to stay in the Scottish Borders”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

A very lovely place to stay. Chris and Carol the Proprietors were a lovely couple who made our stay very enjoyable. We stayed in the Castle Room which was stunning with all the mod cons you need. The bed was the most comfortable one I've ever used in a weekend away. The whole place was very relaxed and the breakfast in the morning was a great start to the day. There is complementary whiskey or Sherry in the lounge, which was a great place to be next to the open fire before heading into town for dinner. We hope to stay there again the next time we are in the Borders.

“A lovely place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

My husband and I came up to Scotland by train to pick up a new car. We booked into Allerton House for one night only arriving late Saturday afternoon. We were warmly welcomed by Carole and were shown the dining room and lounge and then shown to our room. The room had everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible, large wardrobe, tea/coffee, hair dryer, iron, ironing board even free wi-fi, we only wished we were staying for longer. Carole even asked us to help ourselves to a 'wee dram' of Brandy or Sherry which was left in the guests lounge, which we did when returning from our meal out. There was a lovely open fire and the sofas were very comfortable, just a nice place to relax before retiring. There was a wonderful selection for breakfast with everything from fruit juice, cereal and porridge to free range eggs and of course the full Scottish breakfast. We would love to return again and would recommend Allerton House to anyone wanting a warm welcome and comfortable surroundings. Not so much a guest house, but a wonderful bijou hotel!

Many thanks for your review. We are delighted that you enjoyed the comfort of our sitting room with the log fire and warming dram. Your lovely new car looked well in our secure off road car park and we are delighted that you chose to stay with us on this special occasion,

“Highly recomended!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

My friend and I stayed here for the second year running whilst we were touring Scotland on our motor bikes.

The bikes were left outside the main entrance to the hotel which is in a quiet location, safe and secure. The hotel is within a few minutes walk into town where there is plenty to eat and drink, Chris was even so kind to book us a table in a local pub in advance for the evening.

The rooms are appointed to an excellent standard with everything you would need after a long days riding.

Chris and his wife are very warm and welcoming, but the best bit for us was the full scottish breakfast. If you have never tried scotch porridge before, then you must try it here!!!

Highly recommended for families, couples and bikers!

Thank you for your feedback. We are always happy to welcome bikers (and cyclists) who seem to be pleased to find secure off road parking (or a lockable shed) and the short walk into town means that you don't have to don leathers and helmet again to go out. We are glad this is a return visit and hope to see you again in future when passing through Jedburgh,
Chris and Carol
