“Just go and see for yourself.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2011

This hotel was recommended to us a little while ago, and having stayed there we wish that we had done so earlier.
We were met at the door, with a very friendly greeting and looked after faultlessly during our stay.
Food, ambience and personal attention were the strong points at this hotel.
We cannot think of anything more we could have asked the hotel.
Next time we are in the Borders we will certainly stay there again.
Thank you to our hosts for a great stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the meadow.

“Nice Hotel with very welcoming and friendly owners.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 June 2011

Just returned from a 2 day stay at the hotel. Was our first time exploring the borders area and we chose this hotel based on reviews we had read on trip adviser. The hotel is situated in lovely grounds and has a very individual and eclectic decor, which may not be to everyone's taste but it is very clean and comfortable. Our room was located in river cottage and was more than adequate for our needs. The proprieters, Robert & Audrey were very welcoming from the moment we arrived and provided excellent hospitality throughout our stay. An exellent location for touring the borders area.

“Lovely hotel to relax and unwind”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 May 2011

Stayed for one night in a lovely room. Wish we had time to stay longer. Had a very friendly greeting on arrival and were shown to our room which was outstanding. Decided to eat in the restaurant which proved to be a great choice. Great food and 1st class service . A hidden gem

“A great hotel, fabulous food, great rooms, entertaining Maitre’d and wonderful hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 May 2011

I cannot say enough about this great hotel.
We visited Scotland for a wedding on the Isle of Skye and decided to make it a 3 day break.
We stayed in a 5* Barcelo in Stirling, a Country House hotel on the Isle of Skye and the Jedforest Hotel on our way home.

The Jedforest was and is the best hotel by a "country mile".

A jovial Robert met us as we arrived in the car park, assisted us with our case and showed us to our beautiful room in the river cottage.

We enjoyed an excellent evening dinner prepared by the delightful Audrey and we also enjoyed a thoroughly entertaining chat with Dominic the very professional and helpful French Maitre’d.

After the best nights sleep in any hotel, we enjoyed a fabulous Scottish breakfast, before our journey home.

Take our advice; if you need an overnight stay on your way to Scotland via the borders make it the Jedforest Hotel, you cannot go wrong.

Please ignore the idiot that wrote the comment on 8th May; lets face it, they did not stay at the hotel, so how can that negative diatribe count as a genuine review.

Room Tip: All rooms have views of the beautifal 35 acre gror

i cant really write a full review on this hotel as when we arrived, we hadnt even got out the car and a blonde woman came out "shooing" us. we got out the car and she said "no lunches, away you go" we then asked if it would maybe be ok to use their toilet and she replied "no 4 miles away". she was unbelievably rude and ive never experienced such abominable customer service in my life. so rude.
