This is a less than average Parador in a well below average location.
Vilalba is a drab commercial town which has been bypassed by the main road and, seemingly, by progress. The Parador is in the centre of the town and is hemmed in by buildings, many of which are shabby. The friendly staff do their best but they cannot make up for the hotel's deficiencies.
The character rooms are in the restored mill, but we didn't see those. Instead we were in the main block with most of the other guests. The room was OK but walls and doors were thin, so noise carried into the room until late at night.
We didn't eat dinner here, but breakfast was OK.
There is no free parking at the Parador, so you have the choice of parking in the streets (if you can find a space) or paying approx 11 Euros to park in the hotel's underground car park. We felt it better to pay and be content that our car was secure for the night.
If you do stay here it would be advisable to reserve a car park space when you book, as the garage was not huge.
I cannot think of a thing to recommend this hotel. If you are staying in the Paradors then you would be much better off in Ribadeo or (for real luxury) in Santiago de Compostela.
