We paid 55 euros for bed and breakfast in a very comfortable room, with free parking just outside the door - in Santillana del Mar, which is essentially a medieval theme-park tourist trap, this was extraordinarily good value. In particular, since parking is not permitted in the "centre of the village centre", being able to have the car two minutes away was a real advantage. The hotel is functional rather than charming, but there is a pleasant garden area to sit and have a coffee or a beer in the sunshine, and the walk into the centre of the village is less than 5 minutes. Breakfast was generous, although "industrial" products were more in evidence than local ones - but at that price, you could hardly complain!

Really handy after crossing from Portmouth to Santander.We arrived on our motorbike & were invited to park at the side of the hotel rather than use the carpark at the front of the hotel.The town itself is a beautiful gem, but try to see it early in the morning before the crowds arrive. Hotel was great value for money, clean rooms & friendly staff.We really felt we were staying somewhere special with lots of history attached to it. Fernando, the grandson of the original proprietors was friendly, welcoming & speaks great English. We were made to feel so welcome we stayed again on our return.

Hotel foyer has a lot of charm and the staff were very nice. The room I stayed in was comfortable and clean but I thought perhaps slightly overpriced for the low season
