“Very disappointing”

I stayed at Ca's Sant last year and found the whole experience very disappointing. While the finca itself was beautiful and the grounds were lovely, the service was absolutely terrible. In particular the woman who runs it was very rude and didn't make us feel at all welcome which I found to be utterly unacceptable. We were paying guests afterall and it isn't cheap. The building we stayed in wasn't well built or insulated and we could hear everything that was being said in the next room. The breakfasts were poor to say the least and they don't do lunches or dinners. Overall it wasn't an enjoyable stay mainly due to the rudeness of the female owner.

“Awesome!”

Location: Very near to the center of Soller, a small town where you could find
all what you need, from international press to a huge offer of bar and restaurants where you have dinner. Soller is a cosmopolitan village, that had a few years of flourishing, and now seems to live away of the global crisis. Ca´s Sant , part of this show, is a mixed of nature, art and civilitazion.

Quality: We felt on holidays, nothing remembred our daily rutine. An authentic place. Friendly service by their owners, discretion, elegance, class. A small hotel with personality, where we coincided with a Japanese TV which was recording a reportage about the housemade orangemarmelade!

The worst: My wife is passionate about fashion, and she was delighted with the holidays speaking with the owner of the hotel and her daughter, who also have a a beautiful fashion store in the center, with discounts for the hotel guest... “danger for your amex”!! LOL

Food: In the center you could find small shops where you ccan buy 1st quality products and different types of restaurants. I reccomend to buy some bread, oil, tomatoe, cheese, “jamon serrano” and olives and eat it in the terrace of your room. They provide you the oranges (for free). They have fantastic prices in teh minibar, everything for 1 euro!!. Tip: try to convince the owner to cook a paella (cooked with orangewood), that takes you to another dimension. I do not reccomend paella if you are not used to eating different flavours, paella is a typical dish with rice, mixed of vegetables, meat and seafood.

How lucky to live in a place like this. Thank you for allow us to taking part of this privilege.
We shall return one day!!

“Delightful setting, and wonderful patient hosts, in the gloriously well preserved Soller.”

My wife and I messed up and forgot our maps to get to Finca Ca's Sant for a 4 day break in Majorca. We arrived at Palma airport at 11.30pm, got our car, had not a clue which way to go and ended up doing the coastal road which took two and a half hours instead of 40 mins. We arrived in the beautiful Soller not having a clue how to find the Finca having not got the correct phone number. After riding around for ages we saw the local Police station and they gave is directions. We eventually arrived at 3.45pm, Raphael was waiting up for us and could not have been more welcoming, as he was the following morning when we went for the delicious breakfast.
The morning after we had the added pleasure of Raphael's wife Lourdes serving us breakfast, who looks like a more beautiful Ivana Trump without the botox, a delightful hostess. Mini bar in the room was great as bottled beer, as other none wine drinks were only 1 Euro each. Lovely setting, large room, orange trees everywhere, loads of sunloungers and great pool. Very short walk down narrow alleyways to the square and shops in the centre of Soller.
Prince Charles would totally approve of this place, nothing has spoilt the whole of the Soller valley right down to the lovely port, gorgeous old stone buildings. We ate at the Cafe Soller in the square 3 of of the 4 nights, great menu, papers to read, nothing posh, but really good food, well presented.
The whole area is a walkers paradise, better than Corsica which we loved in the spring. If you go make sure you have the correct phone number, the maps that they give you, which we forgot are not very helpful, Raphael is very happy to meet you in his car and lead you to their bit of paradise.

“The True Mallorca”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2010

We have just returned from a most wonderful stay at Finca Ca's Sant. The hotel is built and run in true Mallorcan tradition - which we loved. We will definitely return some day. I cannot understand the (very few) adverse reviews and totally agree with the owner's replies. We found the owners to be particularly helpful and friendly. They were keen to help with questions on local birds and about their farm. They even set up a television for us in the main hotel so we could watch the Scotland / Spain football game - and sat down to watch with us! The breakfasts were a delight - a perfect start to the day. We loved the walk through the little lanes into town at night - past houses and gardens of Mallorca people who all shared a friendly 'Hola' with us. Yes, the hotel is hard to find - let's hope it keeps away those who cannot really appreciate it's beauty and charm.

“lovely old finca, shame about the service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2010

After getting lost several times in the town centre we managed to find the hotel. The finca is a lovely old building set in a beautiful garden with mature palms and trees. We stayed in the main house above the front terrace with access to our room via an outside staircase. The room was a reasonable size but needed some up-dating particularly the bathroom with a ridiculously small washbasin and shower that was designed to flood the rest of the bathroom when in use! The breakfasts were extra cost - we asked at one point for toast with our scrambled eggs and were told in no uncertain terms that 'it is not traditional Mallorquin' and refused it. We felt that the owner of the house, although always polite, was doing a job she didn't particuarly enjoy. The swimming pool was in a pretty spot in the garden under the most gorgeous magnolia tree. We seemed to choose times for swimming and sunbathing when the nearby football stadium was in use and after an hour of listening to shouting and enthusiastic revellery returned to our room. Our little walk through the back lanes to the town centre was fine but watch out for doggy deposits and rough ground - take a torch at night, in fact I think that torches should be supplied by the hotel.
Can I suggest buffet breakfasts with the price incorporated into the room price and a regular room check to make sure that everything is in reasonable working order. One last thing - if you're going to supply tea and coffee making facilities in the room could you supply milk too. It would be fine kept in the fridge in the room.
We discovered several other small centrally situated hotels in Soller and will try one of these next time as we intend to go again but not to Cas Sant.
