“Ok but never again”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011 via mobile

Arrived with another couple to be told we had to share a cabin for the first night as theyre had been an overbooking earlier that day. A little inconvenient but we were refunded 1 room cost for 1 night.
The rooms are extremely basic, with nothin more than a bed, wardrobe & bathroom. The shower in the first room was horrendous & would not stay still in holder so you had to chase it around to get wet but the beds were comfy. We we're then moved to our own room which was a family cabin also so had a spare bedroom for cases etc otherwise even with just 2 people it could have got cramped. Again the beds were comfy, but there was an odd drainage smell & the only mirror was in the bathroom & once a hairdryer was plugged in the lights went out until it was unplugged again. We also had to share the room with ants :-(
Apart from being woken by binmen early mornings & kept awake by barking dogs the rooms were adequate enough even with there quirks/faults.
Breakfast is indeed basic & my husband lived off ham rolls & I simply toast. There is no fruit on offer. The evening meal again was basic although the salad selection was tasty it was the same every night with a choice of a meat of fish with some sort of potato. One evening the meat choice was a beef burger?!?! But it was all edible. It cost an extra €10 per person for dinner which is along the same price as other higher rated hotels & you could get a main meal alone on the front for a similar cost & probably enjoy it more. It's never a 3 course meal as unless you get in at 7pm sharp puddings are gone & I guess you would class the salad as a starter? I would have preferred to have gone room only & eaten out as good food makes a holiday.
The staff however were lovely and always pleasant often remembering your specific drink choices etc so they can not be faulted.
All in all this was a back up plan choice as we had originally booked elsewhere but tour guides had double booked us two couples. It certainly wasn't our first choice but we saved £150 by downgrading to soller gardens so there were plus points
The area itself id lovely and we hired a car to see more of the island and I would recommend it for a cheapish holiday but any longer than a week would be too much.

“Great in parts”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2011

We loved the gardens and swimming pool area. The bungalows were very basic, and needed painting, but were adequate. No soap or shampoo provided (we were told this was because the hotel was only 1 star!). Dining room area smart and attractive, as was the swimming pool and surrounding patio area.

We were disappointed in the breakfast - same every morning - different cold meats, cheese, cereal, plain yoghurt, hard boiled eggs, and a variety of bread which could be toasted. No orange juice or fruit. Tried out the evening meal three times - it cost 10 euros - again not too impressed. Lots of salads (with loads of onion), meat portions small. Always water melon for dessert.

Security lax - main gates weren't shut at night so anyone could walk in to the bungalow area.

“We'll be back!”

The hotel is in lovely grounds, mature trees, shrubs and great big cacti. It is situated about seven minutes walk from the town centre and although there is no car park, on street parking is fine. The cabins/chalets are basic but are clean, reasonably comfortable and have ample storage. Linen was changed weekly and towels every three days. The bathrooms have everything you need! The pool area was clean and well maintained, convenient for the bar and had plenty of loungers and umbrellas. The dining room is large and bright although a little "functional". The food was pretty basic but was fresh and un-rationed, we had a very good breakfast every day. The staff were friendly and, although the older members were a bit formal, a smile worked wonders.
We can also reccommend the Sol i Sombra across the road, excellent food at acceptable prices.

Room Tip: Specify a chalet when booking, if possible.

“Quirky, chalet style accommodation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2010

The rooms are in the form of individual chalets, each with either double or twin beds, seating, desk, and bathroom, and an outside patio area.
The chalets are set within what seems ot be an old olive grove / carob tree orchard. Although there are around fifty chalets on site, there is a good level of privacy.
The communal areas include a large dining room (breakfast is included, an evening meal is optional), a 'bier keller' styled bar, and a comfortable and airy lounge. Externally there are the gardens, a pool and sunny seating / sunbathing area. Staff are friendly and approachable.
During our stay there was an art class running - with participants and teacher from Germany / Austria. This appears to be an annual event and it was interesting to be able to view the watercolours displayed at the end of each day.
Ths Hotel lies within easy walking distance of the beach, port and local shops. The bus stop is also just a short walk away, so it is easy to get to local attractions such as pretty mountain villages now inhabited by the rich and famous by public transport. The route across the mountains to these villages is 'interesting' - but very scenic!!
