This was our second visit to this hotel. PLEASE READ THIS REPORT CAREFULLY SO THERE IS NO MISSUNDERSTANDING.
Our first visit was about 15 years ago, the Hotel & grounds were beautiful. The food was disgusting. After one evening meal in the hotel we ate out in the town for the rest of our stay. The waiter asked whether we wanted fish or meat. I asked what was the meat? He answered, meat !!! The sweet course was either yoghurt or an ice cream, both served in a plastic pot.

We loved Port de Soller & have always wanted to return. We were persuaded by our Travel Agent that the Hotel had made huge improvements in the past year or too. I am delighted to tell you that this is so. The Hotel & grounds are just as lovely as we remembered them, the food was EXCELLENT. A wide choice of buffet style dishes, all with a Mallorcan flavour, & all cooked fresh in full view. The staff were friendly & helpful. Rooms were comfortable & clean. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a relaxing break.

Room Tip: We asked for a room with a pleasant view. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary & my wife...

“Overall enjoyable stay”

My wife and I arrived by bus 211 from Palma. Bus stop right next to the hotel entrance, very convenient.

Hotel design and lay-out: very attractive and elegant, very different to the usual holiday resort! many different plants and flowers

Room: clean and decent size, but TV is too too too small for standard room and signal was not that great. Shower is powerful and tower is changed every day.

Internet: no access in room but in the lounge, which is not very handy.

Food: we tried evening buffet for the first night, I seriously and sincerely suggest future guests not spend EUR19 per head to spend the evening there. Yes it's not expensive but the taste would ruin the evening and your lady would not be happy about the food at all. Only good thing from supper was the salad and local sausage soup.

Morning breakfast was not bad, but suggest manage in a better way. Freshly squeezed orange juice was a nice idea but the messy manual cut and press orange would certainly cause other guests delay. Someone having to cut 8 oranges for 4 cups juice would cost at least 2-3 mins. But apart from that, some great variety of choices.

Pool: very nice and the food from cafe is even better than the main restaurant! But just TOO MANY kids! so couple without kids are not advised.

In door pool: nicer than outside and very quiet.

Soller: a great peaceful port compared to other parts of majorca. Train to old soller town is a must for holiday makers.

“Excellent”

We stayed sadly for only a week, but thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The acid test is that we will go back. A great location, just a short stroll to the sea front. We went half board and were not disapponted. Excellent food, a good selection and fresh cooked meat and fish each night and alfresco dining. Lovely accommodation with grounds that provide a really relaxing atmosphere and a large pool. Excellent staff. Guests were a mix of French, Dutch, Scandinavian and a few English. A very relaxing hotel and holiday. Soller is a tram away and Palma a really cheap bus ride away if you grow tired of reading by the pool all day. There's also tennis and table tennis which we saw people playing over our books. There were some young children but mainly adults and teenagerswhen we stopped

“excellent hotel”

Have just returned after staying for 1 week with my sister and our parents. We had an excellent walking holiday in the area. We all really loved this hotel. Interesting authentic building and great terrace for eating outside. The food was excellent and there were plenty of healthy options and a superb choice. The staff were friendly and very helpful but not intrusive which really suited us. The Reception staff had excellent English. The waitresses spoke basic English and were also taking orders in German. We loved swimming in the indoor pool before breakfast and the outdoor pool after our walking! We would all love to return.

Room Tip: We had two superior twin rooms which were very comfortable and had a nice balcony

“Staff Training Needed!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

A beautiful building in a stunning location, lovely gardens and a tremendous pool. But do not expect a friendly welcome. With the exception of the restaurant staff, the hotel management should engage in some serious staff training especially at the reception desk. Do not expect any help with your luggage as you arrive or leave, but you can expect the reception staff to watch you struggle up and down a series of difficult steps with an indifferent expression. Do not attempt to engage reception during lunchtime, unless you want to experience the irritation of whoever is behind the desk, as eating in the "back room" whilst working would seem to be the norm. Avoid at all costs rooms above the outside bar area as no attempt is made to restrict the noise. Finally, some travel guides claim that this hotel has facilities for the disabled. I saw no evidence of this at all, and can only begin to imagine how impossible it would be for someone with a disability to navigate around the different levels of the ground floor area.
