“RUSTIC CHARM”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

2nd September 2011.
We were looking for traditional unspoilt Spain and found it in Pollenca.
Little old ladies wearing button up aprons swilling their steps first thing in the morning before going to the local traditional shop for a chat and to buy the days food provisions. Old world charm!
Hotel Son Sant Jordi is not posh or plush nor is it spotlessly clean, the breakfast isn’t that great either. The bar/restaurant is not owned by the family who own the Hotel and is unreliable with regard to opening times and hours. The food in the restaurant is the kind of food I would ordinarily go out of my way to avoid, but it is ok if you wish to have a poolside snack (the Sangria is very good). However Hotel Son Sant Jordi has beautiful gardens, the pool is spotless, the sun room complete with shower, chill out sofas and kitchen -which is ideal if you prefer to prepare a lunch time snack for yourself – or you wish to read a book in a cool outdoor room.
We were fortunate enough to be allocated a room in the building at the rear of the hotel which most people seem to be objecting to, but it suited us as we felt it was more private than the main hotel, This building has two separate rooms, if you are lucky enough to be in this building there is a private lounge with typical fire place and seating area, a kitchen, as well as an indoor and outdoor dining area we had our own very private balcony overlooking a lush courtyard garden, It was not a concrete building, but a very typical village house.
I would recommend the hotels private transfer (45euro each way)
I would also recommend hiring a car if and when from the hotel (15euro per day)
The family who own the hotel are friendly and welcoming, at hand if required.
I also think the ambience/atmosphere of this hotel is dependant up on the guests.
The hotel is in a quiet central location with many shops, restaurants and places of interest within easy walking distance.
Hotel Son Sant Jordi is the perfect place to:
CHILL OUT
ESCAPE
RELAX
COLLECT YOUR THOUGHTS
REFLECT
CONVERLESS
We will return. I love this retreat.

Room Tip: If you require your own outside space/ private veranda overlooking a lush private courtyard garden...

“Charming, quaint relaxing place for a short stay in Pollensa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

We spent two nights here in September and loved the atmosphere and the hotel and grounds - service was quick and unobtrusive, nothing was a problem and the garden with pool is stunning, way better than the website shows. Our room overlooked the garden and was lovely - the aircon broke down but with the windows open there was a gorgeous breeze. Would definitely both return and recommend.

Room Tip: Second floor overlooks the beautiful garden and has great views.

“Perfecto...........................”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

We loved everything about this family run hotel for our five night stay at the end of July. The attention to detail is fantastic, the owners are really nice people, the rooms are really well presented and the garden is a little paradise.
The whole experience was very tranquil.

The small pool and pool room are top notch.

The continental breakfast is fantastic with local produce and home made preserves and honey that Jaume harvests from his bees. On a nice dasy you can take a table in the garden and enjoy it all in the early morning sun.

The restaurant is not a full restaurant at the moment but Rodri serves up great tapas and Paella on Sunday, as well as looking after the bar. He is a great character.

There are enough good restaurants within a few minutes walk for that not to be an issue, in fact it's nice just to have tapas now and then rather than full meals every night.

We have no problems in recommending this hotel to our friends and family.

Thanks to Jaume, Ana and Rodri for a lovely stay oh and Marie and Mitch who we met from the North East, who were great company.

regards George

Room Tip: There are garden rooms or rooms with a street view

“the appartment issue”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

Booked the hotel, then read the reveiws, big mistake. The appartment issue concerned me so i e-mailed the owner. I explanied that our break was a special occassion ie a 60th birthday celerbration. He promised us a first floor room overlooking the garden. So we arrived and were informed the hotel was full, but he could do us a favour and put us in the more expensive appartment with private terrace at no extra cost. The appartment was a seperate building to the hotel and the private terrace was 12 foot square and surrounded by concrete walls. We declined, we left, and he could'nt have cared less. Looking at the other reveiws it seems to be luck of the draw. You pay your money, you take your chance. Good luck.

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

As mentioned by a previous reviewer, make sure you choose your room before you arrive. From other reviews here it looks like it could have been a great hotel, unfortunately the room we were given was not what was booked. Apparently other guests had stipulated which rooms they wanted in advance and therefore we were moved to one that doesn't appear on the website and didn't have a private bathroom! We left.

Room Tip: Choose room in advance.
