“A truly perfect hotel”

This must be one of the nicest hotels I have ever seen. It is in the country about 5 minutes by taxi from Pollenca town. Originally a Jesuit monastery, it has been very sensitively converted into a hotel. Our room was stunning; it had three huge windows overlooking the countryside - so it was full of light. The room was very stylishly fitted out and the bathroom was enormous with a jacuzzi bath and a huge walk in shower and the best bath products that I have ever come across in a hotel (they are locally made with herbs and they are gorgeous).
There is a very relaxed feel; two pools (a smallish heated pool which is mainly indoor and a huge outdoor pool with lovely views across the local area). There are oodles of sun beds so there is never any pressure to find a place to lie in the sun.
The food is superb. Breakfast offers a really well chosen selection of fruit, cereals, local charcuterie and cheeses and a scrumptious range of home made bread (perfect for making pan amb oli); a cooked breakfast is also on offer which is made to order but we were so pleased with the cold selection that we did not even think to order it.
We had dinner there with friends on just one evening. I am amazed at the unfavourable reviews below because our dinner was delicious. There were lots of things on the menu that I should like to have tried but, ultimately, I opted for raviloli made with cheek and oxtail for starter (which was incredibly tasty) and a really well made rice dish made with rockfish and langoustines which I loved. We were celebrating a friend's birthday so the hotel made a mouth watering chocolate mousse cake which had us all licking our lips!
I want to go back again - and soon!

Spent the day at Son Brull after vacating villa at the end of a week long holiday in Pollenca.
My wife absolutely loved the spa facilities, specifically massage and pedicure. We also had a great lunch and used both
Indoor and outdoor pools.

The hotel is a former monastry situated in olive groves and orchards that are used both in the restaurant and spa treatments

It is truly a beautiful place to spend some time.

Spa, Lunch and use of the facilities came to around e300 for three adults and two kids.

“Dinner extremely disappointing.”

Like one of the previous reviewers I am only commenting on dinner here. We were staying in a Finca nearby and on reading that this splendid and well-reviewed hotel restaurant was just around the corner, booked in for dinner several months before, We were so disappointed! The food was well presented but tasted really bland. The service was okay but the young woman charged with pouring our wine was far too present and often rushed up to the table to filled my glass but then forgot my husband's . Her unsubtle and hectic manner was totally unsuited to the hushed atmosphere of the restaurant and we found it really invasive. I never write reviews but one could have had lunch in a star restaurant for the money we spent here and we felt quite cheated afterwards. Beautiful location though!

“would love to go back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2011

Son Brull is excellent in every way. Lovely and friendly service, beautiful decoration and architecture throughout, attention to detail and quality. We got extra treats served by the pool, lots of help with cleaning children's bottles etc. The food in the restaurant is superb, the drinks in the bar incredibly smooth, but of course, the bill when you leave is like a slap in the face. Auch.
