My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Karwendelhof in June - booked as a last-minute holiday through Travelzoo and extremely good value. We were on full-board and had the option of a picnic lunch if we were out for the day.
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, with a good choice of both buffet and waiter service. In addition, there was unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks throughout the day and evening.
We had a very spacious bedroom with sitting-area, bathroom and balcony. Because our room overlooked the main street we were twice awoken by late-night noise from people leaving the nearby bars and nightclub, so if you want a peaceful night's sleep ask for a bedroom overlooking the public garden at the rear of the hotel!
We took advantage of the 12 euro bus pass (available from the local tourist office) which gave us unlimited travel around the Seefeld area and nearby villages for the whole week and was incredible value.
If you enjoy walking, join one of the guided walks (book via your rep or the tourist office): we had a wonderful day with a small group in the Karwendel National Park. Another lovely place is Mittenwald, just over the Austrian/German border: the violin museum there is well worth visiting if you're interested in music and historic instruments.
