“Heritage Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

It is an ancient palace built in 1890, nestled on the slopes of Shamla hills. This century old building is a medley of British colonial, Italian renaissance and classical Greek architecture. The Shanama , multi-cuisine restaurant is excellent. Also there is a open bar-be-que called “Under the mango tree”. The view offered is great. Excellent variety is offered in buffet and food quality is really good. Soothing music will be played during dinner time. Room service is generally good ,but door lock system need to be improved.

“The place to stay in Bhopal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Sadly we were only able to spend one night here at the end of a long afternoon in the car but we were still impressed by the level of luxury and service on offer here. Buffet dinner was first class and drinks prices reasonable.
Just one point which jarred was that the staff seemed to be touting for tips all the time. Other grand hotels in india seem to encourage guests not to tip individuals but to make a single contribution to a tip box at the end of their stay.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Excellent service!!! Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend.

Ate at the Mango tree restaurant - Kebabs delicious!!!

I don't normally do trip advisor reports, but, the service here was really outstanding, particularly in small town, India.

“Bhopal's finest”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Dont expect glass and chrome when you visit the Jehan Numa Palace in Bhopal. The colonial charm of the hotel is what sets it apart from the rest. The long driveway, the brick portico and the sprawling construction are all part and parcel of the old-world hospitality that I have come to love in this hotel.

In a smallish metro like Bhopal, the proximity to the business centres really dont matter. But overlooking the lake, this place does bring out a sense of calm and peace to an otherwise torrid day. The room service is also pretty good- 7 mins to get a pot of tea at 8 am. Not bad!

We were given a room next to the pool- on the ground floor. Not that I'm complaining, but since I was travelling with a colleague, we would have preferred separate rooms. Unfortunately, either they were all booked (which is slightly surprising) or the manager simply didnt want to. Ah well!

The food is terrific! Massive breakfast spread- one that could last you atleast an hour. Apart from that, do visit the coffee shop next to the reception. And if you're from a big, expensive metro (like me) be prepared to be pleasantly surprised.

What the hotel could do is to up its mini-bar. Tea/coffee and biscuits is simply not enough. But otherwise, this hotel would be my first choice in Bhopal.

i have stayed here many times in bhopal..
located on a hill top and overlooking the lake.. jehan numa is a beautiful hotel.. rooms have amazing view and great ambiance. restaurants are good.. especially the one where lunch buffet is served with live music (loved the singer.. he has a very soulful voice!).
if you stay here, get up early for a walk around the lake.. very refreshing. enjoy the poolside and gardens.. very refreshing again!
staff is very friendly and go out of their way to help you.
