Visit this place! It's worth it.
Like so many people caught in the daily bump and grind of corporate life, I was frayed at the edges when a friend of mine suggested I take an overnight trip to Blossoms. I'm so glad I took his advice. On the morning I arrived, I was greeted by a gracious receptionist and then by the owner himself. Because I was early, they placed me in a comfortable room, served me complimentary tea while they readied my suite. Once I settled into the room I reserved, I was awestruck by the scenic views. I stepped out onto my balcony and exhaled a sigh of relief for just below, a delightful water stream trickled through the property and the owner was playing cricket with some of the kids on the lawn. Right next door to me was another weary traveler reading a book she hadn't been able to open since the day she purchased it 3 months before. We enjoyed a friendly exchange. I knew that for 24 hours, I was going to get what I needed to jump back on my work horse and that I was surrounded by kindred spirits seeking to do the same.
I spent my evening exploring the outdoors, took a short walk to the beautiful and serene Norbulingka Monastery (their coffee shop serves great banana cake). I sauntered past tea shops with monks playing a local game and watched the sun set from my window. I enjoyed a lovely dinner on the terrace and the owner made a point to greet and spend time with all of us before we retired to our rooms. The next day, I visited McCleod Gunj and while I found many entertainments there, I was more than pleased to return to my Blossoms oasis.
The shower and bath tub were a treat. I had plenty of hot water. My sheets were in tip top condition and the room looked the way it was represented in the photos. I won't take the overnight bus again because that was a bit too harrowing for me. When I return to Blossoms, I'll organise a different mode of transportation. Maybe I'll fly since they've got the airport nearby.
